Husband recently diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma and had no symptoms
My husband was recently diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma. We were referred to Mayo and have our first appointment in a week. What I don't understand is why blood tests taken the end of Sept were all normal range. Lesion was found on the liver by accident otherwise no symptoms. They say it's about 8cm which is quite large. We don't know what to expect and it's scaring me. I'm assuming the size would mean it's more advanced. Can anyone share their experience if it's similar?

I wish you all the best of luck ! My husband starts chemo on Thursday. He was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and the consensus from the doctors is chemo first because he has three lymph nodes involved. I’m praying for a good response.
What type was your husband diagnosed with? Praying for you!
I pray your husband does well with the chemo. We continue to wait but hopefully things will move quicker when we hear from the surgeon. All we know is my husband has Cholangiocarcinoma and the PET scan showed possibly 3 lymph nodes involved which would mean the surgery would remove those as well. Prayers coming your way.
How did your husbands chemo treatment go? Do you know what kind of chemo it is? Praying for you and your husband.
Good morning! Chemo went well, first treatment was immunotherapy and chemo therapy. Imfinzi is the immunotherapy and cis/gem is the chemo. Next eeek is chemo only then the following week is off. Once a week. He is so mentally upset about all of this. Physically he’s doing well. Did you and your husband meet with the surgeon? How is everyone doing? Preying also for everyone!
Sorry for the misspelling. lol
It would be great if they can do surgery. All of our opinions said chemo first especially because my husband also has 3 lymph nodes involved.
We meet (virtually) with the surgeon on Tuesday. The wait is just crazy. We are assuming surgery first but then my husband got a notice about meeting with the oncologist. That appointment wasn't until mid March. He got a note on Friday that it could be moved up to Feb 6. Not sure when surgery will be but hopefully we will find out this week.
Sorry to hear your husband is struggling mentally. With his treatment starting already it's probably hitting him because of the reality of it all. Right now we have just been living life as normal with a lot of uncertainty with treatment. I hope the chemo continues to go well. Keep me posted and I'll do the same. My husband also has 3 lymph nodes that they think will need to be removed. Did they say your husbands cancer has spread anywhere?
Thankfully no. Just the lymph nodes. We were lucky to get into our oncologists very rapidly and get chemo started right away. We had three opinions in two weeks. Definitely keep me posted. God bless. Good luck
We were also told there was no spread which helped ease our minds. This waiting is nuts. Glad your experience was good and things happened quickly. Sending prayers.🙏🙏
