Good Luck, My new primary dr cut me off pretty much cold turkey from 3 mg a day,It has been a detox from hell,6 months later ,im still not normal, I thought it was unethical to put me thru this hell, Good Luck, you might need it, Jumping of benzos, is the worst

@neiko1998 I am so sorry you went through that. You say 3mg a day. May I ask of what? I just learned, for example, that 3mg a day of Klonopin is equivalent to 6mg a day of Ativan and, I think 60 mg a day of Valium! So, when people are talking doses, the name of the benzodiazapine matters. Thank you for an answer or no answer

Which tablets? What name and what dose? The general recommendation is to cut by 10% every 4 weeks and at lower doses to cut by 5% every 4 weeks (the Ashton manual, online/free).
Best done with a Doctor, though.
Note: cutting a tablet in half may not be enough.
It is the PERCENTAGE cut of a dose that matters.
Benzodiazapine withdrawal is serious and best done with a Doctor.

You should be gradually tapering EVERY DAY. Unfortunately, the majority of doctors do not know how to taper people.. 5 to 10% a month at the most. A very slow taper works best listen to your body.. Every other day confuses your body. No wonder you don’t feel right.

So called is right. When I needed help getting off of Ativan not ONE knew how to Correctly taper off. I had to find a Benzo website where there’s millions of people trying to get off and they do get off with proper help.

They have no business prescribing these unless they have schooling on what happens after you build a tolerance to these and the horrible symptoms that come with them. This is a silent epidemic. These doctors need to be held accountable for what they do and how they don’t help
