How do you guys remember to take your medication?
My automated pill dispenser isn't working correctly and I ended up forgetting my medication AGAIN and was at ER all day yesterday from having seizures.

I use a weekly pill container, morhing pills on the kitchen table and night pills next to my tooth. I don't close the lid for slot that holds the pills for that particular day, all the others are kept closed. A quick glance at my weekly container will tell me whether or not I took my pills.
I too use a weekly pill container. Morning pills in one side; evening pills on the other. I also set a range of time in which I must take the pills 6-8 am and pm. This means that if I’m busy at 6, I likely will remember by 8. Because I use extended release Keppra, the small time variation doesn’t really seem to matter.
Are there watches that one can set with recurring alarms to signal, "Time for my meds!"
There probably are. My 30-something daughter could probably set my smartphone up with some signal too. But I don’t know enough to tell anyone how to do it.
Oh, @jakedduck1 -- I'm so sorry you ended up with seizures and at the ER. Wow.
I do not have epilepsy or a seizure disorder, but I have other medications it's critical I take daily, like anti-anxiety and antidepressant medications, plus allergy and asthma meds.
I have tried to associate taking my pills with other things I know are important to me. For instance, I've kept my pills right by the coffee supplies previously because I know I will not fail to have my morning coffee! I now have one medication I have to take at night. Despite my distaste for clutter and things left out all over, I keep that pill bottle on our bathroom counter right by the toothbrushing supplies, as I know I will brush my teeth every night. That habit is very ingrained in me.
How are you today, jakedduck1?
You can use your phone alarm as a reminder as well as the pill dispenser.
Hi Jake - @jakedduck1
I am very sorry to hear that and I hope you are doing better. Please give always your news.
As my medication is both liquid and pills, I set an alarm on my phone, one at 9 am and the other one at 9 pm. I have tried to use pill boxes when taking just pills and also missed some medications. With my alarms on my mobile, I rarely miss them today.
Wishing you a good recovery!
All my best to you!!!

Hi Jake, Good Morning
One thing I forgot to mention is the use of the snooze function every 10 minutes on my mobile alarm. As I have to take different medications in the morning and evening and some of them (like the CBD) can not be taken together with the others, requiring a time interval, I use the snooze function. I only switch my alarm off when I have taken all my medications. This is very helpful to me.
Hoping that today you are feeling a bit better and wishing you a nice day.

Just like the above, I keep my pill container adjacent to my coffee pot. My container has 2 boxes; one for a.m. meds and the other for p.m. meds. Note I wrap a small, but thick rubber band around the p.m. med box, so there's no confusion as to what and when pills I'm taking. I don't trust digital equipment. I hope this helps.
I've been taking seizure medication since my removal of a brain 🧠 tumor in 1970. It was an ASTROCYTOMA GRADE I BRAIN 🧠 TUMOR.
I had to take it three times a day, so I just got into the regimen of taking it at
5:00 am, 3:00pm, and 8:00pm. I still take it at that time or very close to it.
But the funny thing is that I can usually feel it in my head that it's time to take it. I have discovered that my sense of awareness lessons and my level of consciousness also drops to a certain degree.
So in a sense I can actually feel it's time to take my
anticonvulsant medication.
I hope this was helpful for you. Good Luck 🤞.
