Constant dizziness/imbalance
I'm a 47 year old male, and I've been experiencing a non-spinning dizziness/imbalance feeling for over ten months now. It all started after having a sinus and ear infection. I've had and MRI of the head, balance testing, blood tests for any deficiencies, heart tests, all of which are negative. I am suppose to see a neurologist next. Anyone else having similar problems?

I was told I have cervicogenic dizziness. The balance receptors around c2-3 are injured from pinched spinal cord. Had a fusion from c3-T1 2 years ago. Still waiting for the nerves to heal. I have dizziness 24/7. It's been life changing but I deal with it, taking a 2.5 Valium in late afternoon helps me get through the day. My neurologists has me on Botox injections every 3 months, but still no relief yet. Anyone else have this problem?

I was being tested for dementia. When I complained that I couldn’t walk well because my balance was awful, I was diagnosed with Ataxia.
I also have a diagnosis of dementia. Life throws curve balls all the time…
Not sure where this came from!
Well, the good thing is that all the tests were negative, and we can scratch off the dizziness being caused by a medication. Do you get headaches after an episode of dizziness or imbalance? I'm asking because some people who have migraine headaches will have an "aura" before the headache begins. An aura can be most anything- visual spots, snow-looking vision, aphasia....just a thought. All of which could be compounded by anxiety. I only mention this as this was what an NP who wanted to started me on an antidepressant for my dizziness. That was a no go to me! I was depressed over the continued dizziness not vice versa! Turns out once a did deep dive research it was being caused by a new medication, Eliquis, that I was put on. I stopped taking it and haven't been dizzy since.
Hi, I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. I’m dealing with similar. I have been diagnosed with PPPD and other things but this version I have is unbearable at times.
I’m also 40 years old. I’m a father of 3 toddlers, disabled now and just taking one day at a time.
Follow the process at Mayo they are the best!
I have been going here for now 3 years or so. I’m on meds and they give me Botox for my chronic migraines. Feel free to reach out to me let’s connect.
I'm in my 80s and feel much better after following the 8th Edition of a book by Dr. Joel Wallach & Dr Ma Lan: "Dead Doctors Don't Lie." I just refer to the glossery in the back of book for the page regarding my concerns.
I did have the same exact thing. Testing was @ audiologist md was done and it was found that had Menier’s disease.
I think it’s time maybe for an ENT. Inner ear disorders can cause your symptoms. They will do an MRI to rule out a few things and some simple in the office tests. They can tell if it’s signals from your brain. There are a few diseases of the ear that can cause this as well as neurological.
Best of luck.
Wow this sounds like Me 👍
I'm 59 and haven't worked in a year because of unbalanced walking and lights and crowds. I've done every ear test are negative and heart tests are negative 🙃 I did find out I have neuropathy in feet and part of leg's.
They are treating me for vestibular Hypofunction.
Physical therapy 😌.
More aggravating than it's worth 🙄
But I will look into this pppd .
I've been to the ENT dr and done a hearing test and A VNG test
Both negative and no crystals.
But constant ringing in my ears along with vestibular Hypofunction
