Fibromyalgia pain: Let's connect
Is there anyone here that suffers from fibro? I had the 'tender spot test' several years ago and I had 17 out of the 18. I try my hardest to get through the pain with my 4 hydrocodone/acetaminaphine pills a day, Tiger Balm rubbed into areas that are the worst, light exercises, and distracting myself with hobbies or chores, etc; but there are many occasions where none of that helps and I spend most of the day holding down the couch, getting up about 30-45 minutes after that, walking/standing around the house for 15-20 minutes, or sitting for about 15-30 min. I do not drive and my husband works 6 days a week, overtime almost every day, so I'm alone a lot. my wonderful husband is very supportive and I am very grateful for that, but my only other friends are online, out of state, and I will probably never even get to meet them. when extreme pain takes over, my depression takes over and it is so difficult to find hope. does anyone have tips for fibro, whether diet or over-the-counter meds (I've tried them all, I think), or anything, besides hobbies and such? I've tried every over-the-counter med, and the Tiger Balm does cover some of what the pain pill doesn't help, but I'm hoping one of our members might have some knowledge that could help. I'd really appreciate it.

hAve the right attitude I lived in Pa that's how I felt r moved to sunny California which it's raining now but it seldom does, my fibro is better but even here when a new cold front moves in a day before I hurt it is the bariatric pressure and back east the dew point but at least it's better here ,Florida then up north.
Go to Oregon if you like rain.
Good for you Parus I was only on 30 mg so I us stopped since this is a or does I called my rheumatologist to let her know. The Dr,s work for us remember ,we pay them to get us better not the drug companies.
Good for you remember th Dr,s work for us ,we pay them to make us better, not the drug companies.we are our best advocate for our health ,it it doesn't feel right stop it.
I agree. It used to be Drs put their patience ahead of all else. Read up on everything. I agree if something is bugging you to stop or not get involved in a certain drug. Stop
@parus, I don't think there is a better way to use any energy we coax out of our bodies. I sometimes have to force myself to be present with them, but always find some reserve from them and never end up wishing I had not participated in whatever it is. So glad you made those three days of memories that will last long after we are gone. My kids remember more about my parents (1 here and 1 gone) than I do, although I did spend a lot of time with my Dad after I became disabled and his physical abilities had not declined completely. Lots of rounds of golf that I would trade nothing for - that would not have happened had I not been ill and often wonder if I would have chosen being sick if I had known I would miss out on those times. I am glad my future is mapped out by God and not me.
Amen me too .Read 1Peter 4
Had enough of it in Pa.@snow , ,no humidity either When my brother died spent 2weeks in Ga.talk about humidity glad to get back home
I agree living near the kids....I did not like how much control they seen to think they need over us. I am sure they are just looking out after us. Especially me as I am alone since my sweetheart went home. I have been so independent and it is hard to break.
Hi
I can see why this might be an issue.
