Pain areas move around

I’m fairly new with PMR. I take 15 mg of prednisone daily when I wake up in am I find different areas of my body hurt. Now it’s both hands. Does PMR move around like this?

Thank you for starting this thread. I've been having more pain all over and was starting to question the whole PMR diagnosis. This makes me feel "normal" again lol.

Diagnosed 2 months ago with PMR. I’m 72 years old and was previously very active. This thing hit me overnight. Unbearable pain in my shoulders. I was prescribed 10 mg of Prednisone that had no effect. I’ve been moved up to 20 mg for 5 days and then will hopefully taper down. This disease has a mind of its own. Most of my pain is currently in my hands.

Same here. First my shoulders and now my hands. I’m ok 2-3 hours after I take my Prednisone.

I was diagnosed in June after months of severe morning pain in my hips to mid thighs and my neck. I went from being a 74 year old, daiky walker and weekly mountain hiker to having a hard time coming down the stairs. I started at 20 mg which made a huge difference. I tapered down to 17.5 mg by mid July and was hit with a big flare. Back up to 20mg which did not help then up to 30 as per my Family Dr. Since then the pain has developped in other areas of my body for sure. My shoulders are impacted and movement is restricted, my hips and thigh still but not as badly. My wrists and hands as well, sometimes to the point of almost dropping things when I try to lift or pick something up. I am now down to 10mg but mornings are not great. I do NOT want to increase the dose. As of last night, with the consent of my Dr. I am splitting my dose 7,5 in the morning 2.5 late afternoon to see if it helps me more in the morning.
Among other things this is a very frustrating and discouraging disorder! Just as you think you have a handle on it, it throws you a curve ball! That said this forum has been a great source of information and has helped me navigate through the ups and downs and I am so vey greateful for it and to all that contribute to it!
I wish you all the very best, warm wishes for the holiday season and a New Year full of peace and hope!
