Orgovyx and the timeline for return of normal testosterone level

Posted by rmp321 @rmp321, Dec 19, 2023

I’ve been taking Orgovyx since 11.09.23. How long does it take for Testosterone levels to return to normal once I stop taking this drug? What side effects have you experienced with this drug?

@farmanerd

What was your T immediately before starting Orgovyx?

It was 366 (March 2023) It went down to 16 while on Orgovyx.

Well, I agree with others - age has a lot to do with it. 366 is not terrible but not very high to begin with so coming back by half after being completely shut off is not that terrible.
The body just doesn’t bounce back as it once did and although there are some men in their 70’s and 80’s doing things a 30 yr old would do, it is very, very rare.
Perhaps supplements - CoQ10 and Wisconsin ginseng might put a little more spring in your step?
Just my opinion, but after what you’ve been through why take the chance of giving fertilizer to some dormant seeds? Take the W and run like hell!

Thanks Phil. I agree --not worth taking a risk with T supplements. My oncologist also agrees. I'll hope it comes back on its own.

Almost two months post-Orgovyx and my T is only back to 267 (started at 620). Is this a bad sign or normal? Seems others are getting their T back a lot faster after stopping. Hoping I didn't damage myself by taking it.

@scottbeammeup I found this on the orgovyx site. "Cumulative probability of testosterone recovery to 280 ng/dL at the 90-day follow-up in 184 patients who completed 48 weeks of treatment and who did not receive subsequent androgen deprivation therapy for at least 90 days after discontinuation."
I've been looking for a chart. And wonder if a person can take testosterone injections to speed the process. Or cover the interval or if it would be contra indicated with the prostate cancer history.
So it is the second to the last chart on this site. https://www.orgovyxhcp.com/efficacy/ Not exactly what I wanted to read.
Looks like you are right on schedule.

Thanks! What has me scared based on what I read on the Orgovyx web site was they said 55% recovered to "normal" which they seem to be stretching to be 280 when most doctors use 300 ng/dL as low normal. Also, if 55% recovered that means 45%, almost half, didn't. Or maybe I'm misreading. We'll see soon enough either way.

I was told that if T doesn't return, I can supplement it after two years, but that's a long way away.

Scott, your T is returning on YOUR body’s schedule - not the mean or the average, etc. You don’t know if, in your case, it may suddenly jump 100 points higher in a month- you have to give it the full two years as recommended ( for a reason).
Also, the only thing you damaged more than yourself was the cancer cells - they were the target and never forget that.

I'm for that, heavyphil, a sudden 100 pt jump.

Good point. Even without ADT my PSA is at .08 and holding (only had radiation, no surgery).
