Anyone have vertigo? What causes it?

7 years ago I had a bad attack of vertigo. No med problems found. This past Saturday at 5 am woke with vertigo. Went to ER at 8:40 pm, they gave me meclizine & ondansetron. Did a CT of my head & neck: negative. MD did eye stuff (?) & said he didn’t think it was a crystal in my ear. Still a bit dizzy. My annual wellness visit was Monday & all my tests were fine. Does anyone have an idea what caused the vertigo? I’m still a bit dizzy but no vertigo.

My friend had vertigo after a concussion and finally found a doc that knew how to reset the crystals inside/behind the ears
and that was the answer
After you have it done professionally.... if it keeps happening... there are utube easy instructions on how to teach someone in your family how to do it

Thanks for that info. My doctor said it was NOT from crystals in the ear. I tried the Epley maneuver before going to the ER. The ER PA who treated me said the vertigo could have been from severe nasal congestion from a bad upper respiratory infections a week earlier ( negative test for covid); could have been dehydrated also. My primary MD said you first have to determine what is causing the vertigo before moving ahead with treatment.

My neurologist said to do Epley Maneuver for a week. I did it 3 days and vertigo went away. Docs can tell by your eyes if it is vertigo.

Yes. The ER doctor checked my eyes & said they were not indicative of crystals in the ear . Also the vertigo did not last after I was given meclizine

That's Bonine and that did not work for me. I do believe it is my neck - cervicogenic dizziness. Check YouTube - they have a lot on Vertigo and neck dizziness. I'm seeing a medical masseuse now.

I have it, but only on VHS.
