Respiratoralogist found a liason in upper right lung and I'm leaving for 5 months and he trying to get an emergency lung biopsy done and an apt at sunnybrook hospital. I'm feeling that I can wait till I get back. Wants me to stay home and I feel I be waiting at least 3 months for procedure so it won't make any difference. What do u think? Nothing there on my last CT scan a year ago
I think you should have a frank discussion with the doctor about why there is urgency to proceed. Then consider setting the surgical appointment for March or April and shortening your travel plans.
I do not say this lightly - some years ago I insisted on waiting until Spring for surgery, and my condition got vastly worse in the 4+ months. Recovery was very complicated. And this year, I have delayed leaving for the South until January to take care of a bad shoulder. Are you trying to leave the cold behind?

There's urgency because of my leaving g is the only reason why so much urgency I will be flying back once I get an appointment it could be nothing or it could be something I'm in canada so I have to wait till I get an appointment and that could be 2 to 6 months and thank you for sharing ur experience
I have 6 nodules found incidentally when I had a chest x-ray for a respiratory infection and something 'suspicous' appeared. So I had a followup CT and it showed 6 ground-glass nodules. I met with a lung surgeon and radiation oncologist, they agreed we do nothing for now. I had had a CT scan 8 years prior and these nodules had doubled in size since then. I had a follow-up CD 6 months later and there was No change whatsoever; i have another in a month, we are doing 6-month CT's for 2 years; if anything. changes we will do robotically assisted targeted radiation... kind of nerve-wracking but because they are all fully ground glass that is the current best practice, waiting and doing surveillance. hope this helps some.
i have now had my 2nd 6-month CT follow up. so one year since nodules seen on x-ray of chest for possible pneumonia. absolutely no chance in any of the nodules. which is the best possible news…on to the next six months. a new way to live life.

Ask your doctor to request a NODIFY LUNG test. It’s a test by a lab called BIODESIX. You can go to their website and it will tell you about it. I had a nodule they were watching for a couple years. Had the NODIFY test and it said 12% chance of cancer. Long story shortened, doc said surgery anyway and it was a benign hamartoma. Several of them. The test, in my case, was accurate. No copay for Medicare and Medicaid. Let us know what you decide.

hmm, so your doctor recommended surgery, at a 12% chance of cancer? Well, I do know the kind of nodule is extremely important - i have 7 nodules (which had doubled in size over 8 years, but bstayed steady this past full year), across all lobes, that are all ground glass, all contained within margins
If there is a speck of difference or movement toward solid we will increase CT to 3months and, depending, do robot-assisted targeted radiation. i will check on the BIODESIX.

My nodule was the size of a pea... couldn't even biopsy it. I guess I should be glad he was being overly diligent. If it had been cancer I'd be singing his praises...
I live in canada so going back to my respiralogist on Wednesday. I figure I will go to portugal and when I get the phone call to have further testing I will fly home from portugal
