Anyone with Rhumatoid Arthritis Intertistial Lung Disease?

What strategies do you use? I had never heard of RA lung disease but was diagnosed with it a year ago. I am looking to connect with others experiencing this. I do have RA symptoms in joints but they are manageable. The lungs are my main issue right now. ,

I never felt the effects of RA, but my blood results showed that I had it. I am not sure how it really affected my lungs, but I did have pulmonary fibrosis.

In fact RA is one of the causes of pulmonary fibrosis.

@ead People often don't realize that rheumatoid arthritis can affect other organs - it is not only a disease of the joints.
As @vic83 said, dome type can cause pulmonary fibrosis. The type my husband has caused him to develop bronchiectasis. So I am sure it can also cause interstitial lung disease. Each of these conditions cause various parts of the lungs to lose elasticity or to thicken.

I was just diagnosed with rheumatiod arthritis in my lungs !
I always knew I R A in my joints !
I was rushed to the E R becauseI couldn't breath and over the years I've been rushed to the ER for shortness of breathe!
This last time pneumonia was ruled out and showed that I have R A in my lungs !
I worry about this because I've been short of breath for 4 years after I had a blood clot go thru my heart and lungs plus I have Afib !

Yes, I also have this. Didn’t know I had RA, but was having breathing problems. Diagnosed about 3 years ago.

Diagnosed IPF (Interstitial Pulm Fibrosis ) Nov 2020. Then June 2022 Diag RA (rheumatoid Arthritis) have been on Orencia Infusions for 2 years / have had no symptoms of RA and there may be a correlation benefit to my Fibrosis / CT scan Nov 2024 stable.
Doing Pulm Rehab 10 wks and “learning” to be mindful of my diaphragm breathing has helped immense. Using a Resistex breathing tool for lung strength improvement and an Aerobika flutter tool to loosen mucus has helped. Was on oxygen and now it is still my companion if needed but not using - pacing myself daily and not over exerting but mobile and living my life. Some days good - some bad. It’s in Gods hands.
