Check out our new Connect Page on Living Donation
Hi everyone, I’m Kristen, a marketing specialist here at Mayo. It’s an honor to follow this discussion group and hear about everyone’s journey to transplantation. I’m often blown away by the strength, wisdom and support that’s shared in here. Thank you for being part of this community!
I wanted to let you know that on Friday we launched a new Connect page that may interest you. The topic of the page is living donation, and it’s geared toward patients seeking a living kidney or liver donor, as well as prospective donors. Some features of the page include a blog, recipient toolkit, donor toolkit, FAQs about living donation, overview of the living donor care team, resources, events and more. Many patients are afraid to ask loved ones or acquaintances to be a living donor. This page will help educate and prepare patients to navigate the entire process of finding a living donor.
We’d love for you to explore the page and let us know what you think. Feel free to leave a comment or send me a direct message sharing what you like, and also what you think we missed. If you find the information helpful, would you consider sharing it with others in your network?
Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

@kequick - Hi Kristen, I have just now had the opportunity to view this new Connect Page on Living Donation!
I am amazed at the vast amount of accurate and useful information that is presented. And it is so user friendly! I encourage anyone who reads my reply to give it a look. You will find useful information for the patient, for a potential donor, and for any interested person who would like to know more about this life giving opportunity.
I have already received my liver/kidney transplant in 2009 from my heroic deceased donor. I am alive, healthy, and I continue to enjoy my 'new' life to the fullest. I remain forever thankful. Organ Donation is Life!

Thank you Colleen. I had some surgery a few months ago. Gallbladder removal and two hernia repairs. All healed now feeling way better. Hope your doing well Colleen
That explains the absence. Thrilled to here that you've recovered and are feeling well. All is good here. Lots of new members and new discussions. I look forward to your being active in the community again.
