Hi. Ginger has not been clinically tested as a bronchodilator-as you probably already know. If you are on blood thinners you probably shouldn't use it. Memorial Sloan Kettering has an excellent site that discusses uses of herbs and supplements.

Thanks for replying. The article at the site below is long, but what prompted my question. My concern is with finding folks with Asthma or COPD that may have had good results by taking ginger.

I use a lot of ginger in cooking and often have either ginger herbal tea or tea made from ginger root. I have always thought it useful in calming a turbulent stomach and reducing cramping. I'll try to pay attention to whether it eases my breathing on bad days.
That makes good sense. Of course we don't want to overdo it, everything in moderation. I'm sure you have read the guidelines on ginger intake. I will be interested in any updates you can provide.

I also make the ginger tea with the ginger root. I read that to keep it fresh and from drying out to keep it in the freezer. So I cut it up and placed it in the freezer. Trying that this go round.
I never liked ginger much.... but.... I am doing it believing it helps...and probably does help but not in a dramatic way .... more than likely it adds to all the good we do for ourselves.

Thanks for that https.

I started drinking Twinnings ginger tea and found it to be very soothing. Like it’s “spicy” kick as well. Start my mornings with it versus coffee. Bought a tin on Amazon.
