What Dr. Gundry is stating is not new idea, it's just one that mainstream marketers hate to promote...Why? Because they can make so much more $$$ keeping us sluggish and unhealthy. It's logical, but it's not new. I have lose weight and my constipation is pretty much gone, YET feeling much better is ongoing. Lectin are bad, but sugar is the real "Hell on Earth" folk's, because we love it and it's in virtually everything!!...When I started a few weeks ago, I was 6' 1" & weighed 233 lbs. After starting BIO-Complete 3, I have fluctuated between 206-215 lbs. My goal is 190. I now walk a minimum of 5 to 7 miles a day. I think the main reason why my weight hasn't consistently gone down is due to the biggest scourge we have in society "Sugar." In the 1970's, Leaky gut was more of syndrome then a medical disease diagnosis. If we do not get a handle on the sugar epidemic, most diets illuminating other harmful foods will eventually fail. Like Dr. Gundry stated, food producers want to sell us everything, especially if these manufacturer's know we crave the products. Powerful lobbyists in Washington DC are only making it worse. The only product worse than Sugar is Artificial Sweeteners. Lectins are proteins found in many foods we eat. Sugar and sugar substitutes are in everything. They can disturb the lining of the stomach, but I am not convinced that a lectin free diet is the answer to most stomach and intestinal issues, but SUGAR is..!!! With this said, and until the SUGAR cartel issue is addressed millions will continue to die of diabetes and many other health issues. I have decided to continue taking Dr. Steven Gundry's Bio-Complete 3 to help regulate naturally the build-up and destructive acts of "Lectins and Sugar." The much bigger poison in our society is "Sugar". Dr Gundry's products do work to help digestive issues, but it's only 1/2 the solution. I am hoping his new Proplant Complete shake mixes with plant based protein will help keep my weight from fluctuating and continue to improve my digestive health. Obviously, you can save money ordering the products separately, but it's very convenient to buy his products ready to go as long as they continue to work in this synthesized formula. I am convinced by the data that if we keep our stomach and intestinal tract healthy of dangerous built-up toxins that can leach into our bodies, process our food properly with good bacteria, absorb the nutrients that we need, and expel our waste properly, we will definitely feel better.
Benefiber doesn’t seem to be available anywhere, any more. In any case, it probably works the same as Restoralax (in Canada)/Miralax (in the States).
@rashida That’s interesting about availability. Maybe I’m wrong but I think Benefiber is still available in the US. As for Miralax, I’ve never used it, but I know it’s prescribed for constipation here, not diarrhea (as far as I know).
I drink a natural tea called PinaLim. One cup of hot tea at night before going to bed, and results in the morning. The word Pina comes from the word pineapple, and the word Lim comes from the Spanish word limpia which means to clean or clean out. It was recommended by a caregiver for my 90-year-old mother who was constantly constipated. It did the trick for mom. I was on vacation in Mexico and found it there by accident in a pharmacy, but you can order it from Amazon. It’s very inexpensive. Now I drink a cup at night when needed, but I stay close to home the next day. By the way, my mother‘s doctor told her to stay away from MiraLAX type products. All the best!
@bunnybear I am in Canada so will have to wait till I go across the border again. Yes, it’s for constipation as well, but
I don’t have that problem anymore.
Do you remember why your mothers doctor told her to stay away from MiraLAX? Just wondering.
Chocolate contains magnesium, it has always worked for us instead of 'milk of magnesium'
I’ve suffered from good issues most of my life. I recently came into a simple and natural way that has really helped me tremendously. Buy an aloe vera leaf, cut the get inside the leaf into small pieces and freeze it like a little tablet. The get is bitter. Take one every day before your meals and you will see that in about a week. Your stomach will be just fine. Any lesions or anything that’s inside your stomach will be healed by the aloe vera which has healing properties..
I’m no doctor, but this has worked for me and it’s natural and doesn’t cost a fortune and you don’t need a subscription.
Absolutely great advice that I hadn’t thought of. I’m all for homeopathic solutions. Something I’ve also found that helps to keep the digestive process flowing is olive oil. Add it to food or take a shot.
