What brought you joy today?

If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:

1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

A "new" old Ramirez classical guitar as a gift. The tone is beautiful.

I saw a few remaining petunias blooming and savored the brilliant purple and white colors among the mostly withered remaining flowers.
I'm in SE Pennsylvania.

A patch of marigolds against a west-facing foundation of my house is still in full bloom in late November in Ontario, Canada (!!!). Those are unneeded seedlings that I didn't have the heart to throw out, so I put them in a bit of empty dirt. We've had several frosts (including a couple of deep ones), but they don't seem to mind.

I don't always realize it at times, but I know I was down for a while, guess that's why we call it a roller coaster. Today I feel so much better. I get it, it's cancer, nobody said it would be an easy ride. I'm in a good mind set today, also, I did a small project in the garage, yes before it wouldn't of taken as long, but it did make me feel good. Also rake a small pile of leaves left over in the back and brought down to the street for pick up. I like to come here to share and at the same time its rewarding to myself. A big shout out to North for coming up with the idea. It helps all of us. Best to all.

Hi Steve, I'm with you on the roller coaster. My main emotion is anger and I fierce, scary fierce. I'm not completely rational and I don't recognize it until it's passed. Last week I was on a war path and nearly fired all my doctors.

I have received 5 of 6 chemotherapy treatments. I had one yesterday and I spoke to my oncologist about my volatile emotions. He said it narmol part of the experience. My body is under attack because of the drug being infused in me. He was very reassuring that this is an accurate problem with and end date.

I find exercise and accomplishing any task will make me feel better.

After this phase is completed I guess the next is phase weit and see how the therapy worked. We are dealing with cancer in a brave new world. There are so many remarkable treatment options and genetic testing that points to who will benefit from which treatment. Even a recurrence is as terrible as it used to be. It opens up a new world of treatment options

I'm in a good space today, but about 5 days following treatment and a for a week I'm not right. I'm emotional out of control, but it's coming to an end.

Keep up the positive action. Godspeed to you.
Denise

Just pulled my marigolds out yesterday but still have the petunias. I like that they are hanging on.
Both are my favorite flowers along with red salvia. Hate to see the flowers go. 🌹

I'm so sorry. Some days the joy is hard to find.

I hear ya… but I did notice days that I pushed through and stayed positive I felt better and vice versa. Don’t let this be a death sentence … I was stage IV and I am now 3 years and 3 months in remission. You’ve got this. Is there a hobby you’ve always wanted to do or or a class you wants to take? Now is a good time to focus on that and help keep your mind off of the symptoms and weariness. Keep smiling 🙂

Hope the best for you on your chemo treatment. Some say it's not as bad as back in the day, well, it sure isn't a picnic now a days. Not sure how I was about the testy part but being out of energy can make us a bit on edge. My meds are forever ones, but like you say, we move on to the next ones when one stops working. Wish you the best on your journey. Best to all.
