Sensitive guts

Posted by helen1000 @helen1000, Jul 9 7:09am

Does anyone have a sensitive gut like me? Sometimes I eat random stuff and have a diarrhea. I am intolerant to wheat and lactose so I am sure if I eat anything containing these two ingredients, I will have bloating or gas or have to go to bathroom. But sometimes after I eat vegetable juice, I still feel bloating or have diarrhea. So I am curious anyone has similar situation and how to deal with it.

Thanks for any input.

@akg Sorry to hear you have to go through this for so long! Did you ever try probiotics? It can help recover gut flora and support gut health.

Hi everyone. I’m brand new here (or any support group for that matter). I’ve had IBS for forever, starting around 1977. It wasn’t even called IBS when I got diagnosed, it’s been so long. 😏 It changes directions from C to D to both or something in between from time to time over the years. So it’s not a problem easy to get used to. The new antibiotic worked nicely, but as I was warned, it only provides a break (approximately one year) which was still nice. I think the time is about up. Lately, I’m feeling like I spend way too much time going to and from the bathroom no matter what the results are. So, “Here we go again.” Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Hi @shawnkthryn
The med is a newish one. It does not remove good bacteria (which is different).
Medication: Xifaxan
I just checked ’My Chart’ to find the name of it and it is true! It’s been one year. Hope everything works out for you. Thanks for the welcome!

Yes, it does help. My diet does include yogurt sometimes. Even that seems to help. Thanks for the reminder. Like many my age, my focus changes from one issue to another. I appreciate your help.
