What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

I have been living with cancer for two and a half years. I have Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia or something misspelled! Laugh out Loud! I now have a spot on my big toe that resembles melanoma or skin cancer of some sort, and I am seeing the dermatologist on Monday for that. Skin cancers are not uncommon with the non-Hodgkins lymphoma that I have. I never want to get used to hearing the word cancer, especially when it pertains to me, but my joy is that there are medical professionals and medicines to treat me! Praise God! I find great joy and hope today for all of us!
We lost our last 5 yr old English lab to an unknown illness. Looked like lymes but tested negative for that and all tick borne diseases. All tests and scans showed nothing but he continued to waste away. The vets were all stumped. Then just 6 months later our 17 year old Jack Russel passed. So we are dogless and taking our time healing. We've had 7 labs over the years. Each with strengths and personalities all their own. This last one was so special I'm afraid he will be the one all future labs are compared to. So we take our time. But duck hunting season is upon us and we miss our enthusiastic pal.
What brought me joy today?
No words needed.
I recently started a second chemotherapy for my multiple myeloma. Now on the second round of it, there have not been any side effects of nausea so far. This has brought me joy, and appreciation that my body may respond well to this added medication.

Yesterday, I set up an "altar de muerto" for my two cousins who died this year (one of my father's side and one on my mother's side of the family). I posted pictures for the first one's wife to see and I shared them by whatsapp with my aunt. Both were grateful that I had honored their loved one in that way.
I went to a street faire today that was filled with arts and crafts from amazingly talented people. As an added bonus, every year lots of people bring their dogs so it’s like a dog show. Half are doodles of some kind and I was able to love on several of them! So sweet and cute!!!
