Has anyone tried doing a cold plunge ?

I’m considering trying a cold plunge to help with a flare. I usually use heat to soothe my soreness but it’s not working now and they say cold helps with inflammation. There is a new business in town that offers a cold plunge and then a sauna. Anyone have any experience with this?

I haven't been in cold water since my youth when heading to the beach and swimming in the Pacific ocean. That was always quite invigorating. I think it might be fun to try. Interesting, I just listened to a Mayo Clinic podcast on this topic.

My husband with Parkinson's had terrible pain in his gut. It turned out to be a migraine of the stomach. When it hit he would take a cold shower and it stopped the pain for awhile.

I was diagnosed with CIDP in 2020. I have neuropathy in my right foot and my right leg, which causes me to not walk quite correctly, which in turn creates hip inflammation. I take a cold tub at 47° and my inflammation and pain goes away almost immediately. Cold chill tubs Are sensational for inflammation. I have a portable tub, which I set up and I use an aquarium chiller that brings the temperature to consistent coolness. I take a cold tub, probably five times a week. Do some research you’ll see that particularly for inflammation. It’s a wonderful health benefit.
