What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

Spent the afternoon with my daughter son in law and grandchildren (3 and 6) lots of fun at a Halloween 🎃 lights show
While in the treatment center the other day, I read a poem on the window that brought me joy and gave me a big smile.. The devil whispered in my ear, you are not strong enough for the storm,, I whispered in the devil's ear,, I AM THE STORM. Reading this gave me a good feeling. Best to all.
Crows in captivity can learn about 100 words (parrots 1000). The crows that I interact with daily by my condo have literally said “hello” to me a few times over the years but yesterday I was finally able to capture it on video. I was gardening and a crow in the pine tree went crazy saying hello about 20 times in 5 minutes. He initiated the conversation but also answered right back to my hello. I’ve had so much fun showing people (including skeptics) the video and watching their jaw drop and hear them excitedly say, “I heard it!!!” Finally!!! So fun! Wildlife brings me so much joy!!! My patio is always full of pebbles they bring me as a thank you for treats. If you want to hear a captive crow talk, google Tuck the talking crow on YouTube.
It's 71 degrees at the end of October in the Northeast U.S. I went for an unexpectedly long bike ride this morning, then walked my dog five miles instead of her usual four. Spent six hours outdoors enjoying the final remnants of fall foliage.
It was really really difficult taking the huge step to take on my 2 Labradoodle puppies after being 2 years NED. Instead of just waiting for a stage 4 appendix cancer recurrence.
They are now 4 months old. So amazing and naughty wee souls ♥️♥️🐾🐾🤣🤣
Before I was diagnosed I was hunting high and low for a Labrador. My dream as we had Labradors as kids many years ago. Visited dog havens numerous times and searched social media including getting approved to rehome Labradors of any age of deceased estates needing love and a home. No luck 😰
I’m so glad my friend took me around the corner in July this year to a friend of hers who isn’t a registered breeder but who wanted her pedigrees Labradoodle, Coco (with good genetics) to have a litter with a daddy with good genetics) before getting spayed.
I pay my own very high annual private health insurance premiums in Australia. It doesn’t come with employment packages in Australia. We also get Medicare.
I’ve faced SO much prejudice and judgment for not taking a non Labrador from the dog pound. It’s been really horrid 🥹
Most of the dogs surrendered in my area are staffy crosses. Poor owners and poor training. But not suitable for a first time dog owner ever. My dad did all the training when we were kids.
My pups are a huge responsibility especially when you may die early . Labradoodles are popular breeds. I feel I’ve been responsible in taking 2 little souls into my care for as long as I can give them a good home knowing they have an excellent prospect of rehoming if needed 🐾🐾🙏❤️🩹 I was so touched when a decades old friend - who has been helping me walk them - out of the blue offered on Sunday to take them if needed ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Enjoy your puppies and ignore the judgy humans. Some people just get their kicks by inventing new rules, offering unsolicited advice, and trying to shame others (OK, I see the irony that I'm also offering unsolicited advice here, but you know what I mean 🙂).
I've just passed 3 years with no evidence of disease progression for my stage 4 prostate cancer, and while I try to be patient and kind with everyone, my time is too precious to waste on preachy fools.
We are searching for a Labrador pup as well. We are a hunting family in need of a retriever. We've had several labs over the years. A good dog I'd hard to find is what we learned from Snoopy and Charlie Brown....they were so right!
Labradoodles are great dogs!!! Sorry others can be mean. I faced a bit of that attitude when I bought standard poodles from a breeder but due to allergies I needed to be sure I was getting a hypoallergenic dog. Later my son brought home two adult schnauzers that needed a home and it turned out they are hypoallergenic too. What luck! It’s great to give any animal a loving, safe home. Kudos to your wonderful friend for offering to adopt your dogs if needed. Doodles are the cutest!!!
We bought our Englsh Lab Puppy three years ago in Eden, Vermont. He has a tremendous nose and loves the woods, birds, and water. He is the most loving and kind dog we could ever have asked for.
I have been living with cancer for two and a half years. I have Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia or something misspelled! Laugh out Loud! I now have a spot on my big toe that resembles melanoma or skin cancer of some sort, and I am seeing the dermatologist on Monday for that. Skin cancers are not uncommon with the non-Hodgkins lymphoma that I have. I never want to get used to hearing the word cancer, especially when it pertains to me, but my joy is that there are medical professionals and medicines to treat me! Praise God!
