Fatigue, pain and edema especially.

I have had LC since March 2021. I can barely work due to the crashes, fatigue, body aches and brain fog. Since I am self employed, at least I can't get fired but also there is no paid time off from work.
I love the term Coviteer! Belonging to a club no one should have to join but at least we have a cool nickname now 🙂

LC since 09/2020. I am (was) self employed as well. My work hours have gone from (more than! - if you're self employed, you know what I mean) fulltime 2000-2019 with a gradual decrease to approx 4 hours per month 2020-2024. The majority of my work hours since LC has been done from bed using my iPhone and iPad as a makeshift communication and dual monitor system. So, yes, fortunate I didn't have to attempt to maintain an 8-5 in an office. The trade off, though, is equally challenging. No provided insurance, retirement plans, or guaranteed wage...

I am in the process of applying for (attorney-assisted) SSA Disability. My attorney says I've got a good chance. I must, or else she wouldn't have taken me on since they only get paid at the end by a percentage of the backpayment proceeds. I figure it is worth the shot. [DISCLOSURE RECOMMENDATION: Do NOT attempt applying without the use of an attorney. Preferably one who specializes in Disability Claims.] That advice came from someone with experience...

Blessings, rest, and recovery to you!

Hi, I went through Nyman and Turkish. They do that and other claim cases of that type. 4 offices in the US. My legal assistant I work with is fantastic. I send him my Docs weekly to add and he is on the ball to add them right away and give me updates as he gets them. They just sent 4 packets of stuff. 3 to fill out by me and not them. I had 17 pages I filled in (from bed like you for work). Sent them to him so he could fax same day. So far, so good. Note: I too worked for myself combined about 10 years over the last 30. I was heathy them. Hours were long but rewarding. No insurance though, that’s why I went back to W-2 work. Did you pay yourself through a W-2 ? So it reported to SS as well?

Yes, we always paid ourselves W-2 wages for that reason, but never had anything but high deductible health insurance because we were not a large corporate group. We were prepared for any major medical event. But, like you, were very healthy and did not ultimately need the coverage.

Yeah, how soon that changes. I’m getting ready to post another question while my brain fog is thinking of it. Take a look in a few.

Hi!
I'm new here just found this as I research places to get treated. Im pretty sure what I'm experiencing is LC. I had COVID in 2020 and again in 2022 both times really bad. Since the first time in 2020 I've had heart palpatations, rapid heart rate (just walking up my stairs in my house it goes up to 134), increased BP, shortness of breath, body aches and lose my voice, extreme fatigue. I'll get so short of breath just doing normal stuff and my heart rate increases and BP goes up I get exhausted and have to sleep. I'm a therapist and talk all day, it's affecting my ability to do my job anymore, Im exhausted and have no capacity to be attentive. Im worried I'll have to stop but I have to work so I don't know what to do anymore. Ive gone to the ER multiple times and been in the hospital all to be told they have no clue what is wrong with me. Every year the symptoms get worse, I've been sick now for 10 weeks. Im exhausted all the time. I used to run marathons and work out daily now I can hardly walk around my house. We may have to eventually sell the house b/c I cant even get upstairs. 🙁 I'm hoping to get into Mayo clinic's LC but would love to hear other's experiences and recomendations for LC clinics

I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles I got covid for seven weeks in March of 2020 and stay fatigued and SOB all the time. My blood inflammation markers are high. Lung and heart at only 50% functionality. I don't have the luxury of not working, but I struggle everyday. I wish you all the best in finding some help

Omg, 50%? Can you get SSDI? Or apply. That alone should qualify you. Hope you get an opportunity to have some type of relief. The waiting game is awful. I am thankful I have 1 person to rely on. He has been wonderful. When I met him, he had some financial issues and I helped him then for two years. We are a team. I will have to file for bankruptcy though. He can only do so much. I had perfect credit as well. Now it’s 455. I didn’t think it even went that low. Can’t get blood out of a turnip, my grandmother used to say. She paid everything in cash. Owned home outright. Didn’t want to owe anyone!!
