Thanks for your encouragement. I have an appointment with a hematologist on Wednesday and asked the guys in my bsf group and at church to remember me in their prayers.

I went for a blood draw yesterday. Platelets were down from 918 to 875. I haven't heard from dr yet to see if he is going to raise it 50 or not. When is your appointment?

I took my first injection of Besremi last week. My doctor's office is working on setting up appointments for ongoing blood tests.
I originally wanted to be on Besremi rather than hydroxyurea because I read that having a high allele burden over 50% can lead to blood clots. Later I realized that there is also a risk for some people that are on hydroxyurea or anagrelide for 10 years or more to develop myelofibrosis. So I am thankful that Medicare will pay for almost all of the cost of Besremi, and the rest will be shared with a health care sharing ministry called Samaritan Ministries that we belong to.
