Long COVID: What bloodwork and vitamin/supplement recommendations?
My daughter has debilitating fatigue as well as other symptoms (including but not limited to brain fog, cognitive issues, sudden onset nerve pain in feet, cough, shortness of breath). She's looking for non-western medical advice in addition to traditional. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated?
Two part question:
1) What blood tests do you recommend requesting for LC?
In addition to CBC, my thought was vitamin panel, ferritin bloodwork, CRP. Any others?
2) What supplements / herbs, etc. have been helpful?
All B vitamins, Vitamin D, Turmeric, Quercetin, NAC (not sure that that is, but read it in a posting), Magnesium, Zinc.
Thank you!

Sure would be great to see one reply that says YES to this very important question!👍
This is helpful. Are the supps you listed ones you’d consider to be the most helpful in mitochondria repair?
Yes. Covid knocked out my thyroid. My endocrinologist prescribed a cocktail of thyroid meds. She upped the dose so that I have the energy to walk up to 20 minutes at a time twice a day, clean the house as needed and welcome friends for short visits.
I still have awful brain fog, therefore my husband prepares my meds for the week in separate morning / night pill cases. The doctor has made a significant difference. The part I dislike is the regular blood work so she can monitor any changes.
Hope this helps.
My doctor recommended MitoQ. It is a mitochondria-targeted antioxidant. It has been the subject of 750+studies and 18 clinical trials. I got it from Amazon. It’s been 2 months and it helps me with brain fog. It is also supposed to help with fatigue. I can’t really tell if I have any benefit. Hope this helps.
I’ve read that the OAT and microbiome tests are helpful in determining what you need for supps

I have been on some supplements for a couple months that we’re recommended by a naturopath who works with chronic fatigue. I am less fatigued but I don’t know if it’s because of the supplements, who knows!
Here’s the list:
Alpha lipoid acid 300 mg
L-carnitine 1,500 mg
Nicotinamide Riboside 500 mg
Ubiquinol 100-200mg
The b vitamins, Magnesium, and melatonin
Oh! And creatine.
I also take NAC
