I agree with @nrosa0311 that it is a question for your provider, either your kidney specialist or a bariatric surgeon. They may recommend specific type of bariatric surgery based on your condition.
You would have to distribute your fluid intake over the entire day, but I am sure your already doing that.
Have you contacted a bariatric weight loss location to talk about your options?
Hi, thought I would update my post here as it has been a month post op, and I am doing great. I have lost about 14 pounds since my surgery and 19 inches overall. Total weight loss so far has been about 44 pounds. I am finally getting back into my exercise routine with video's on Youtube.
The only thing I have noticed after the surgery is that my sense of taste is not the same. I had to give up drinking the Adkins Strawberry Protein shake as I couldn't stand the taste of it. Otherwise, most foods or liquids I have tried have not been too bad. I think of it as if you don't like the taste, it isn't good for you LOL. JK
The only thing I would say is that physically I am doing well, but my hormones are crazy. I do get very depressed on some days, but talking to people about my thoughts and feelings has helped a lot, whether it be a friend, family member, or the doctors.
I hope that whoever reads this will feel encouraged to keep doing what you are doing through the program, and stay positive. The one thing I have learned is that people will have their opinions, but don't let the negativity out way the positive. You are doing this for yourself and no one else.

Hi, my name is Jackie. I am at he very beginning of my bariatric journey.
I’ve been obese since my early 20s. I’ve always had a difficult time controlling my weight. Even when I was in high school I weight 135lbs. I was told I was over weight. When I went into the military I weight 138lbs I was told I was over weight but I always pass the measurements they did. No matter wha I did I either couldn’t loose weight or if I did I couldn’t keep it off. After I got out of the military, got married, and had my children that is when I really started gaining weight. Back in 2011-2013 I managed to loose over 100lbs. By then we moved and my commute went from 45 mins a day to hours. I regained the 100+lbs back. We lived in western WA and I had to take a ferry I Seattle for work. The ferry ride alone was an hour one way.
I’ve always thought of weight loss surgery but never could get it due to no money or insurance wouldn’t cover it.
I’m happy to be here now…and looking forward to all I can learn.

My name is Roberta Cornett but I go by Berttie. I just had 3 surgeries in one with 1 being the bariatric surgery (ruen y) if I spelled it right. I had it on September 18th. I am new to all of this. When I started my journey I was 331 pounds. I am now down to 250 and I can't believe how much I have lost. I have lost 7 pounds since my surgery. I'm on the blended diet and I can't get any meat in my diet. Is that ok? I have tried chicken but I can't blend it without chunks in it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Mayo Connect and this group and congregation on your weight loss. You do not necessary need meat, but your do need protein.
When your diet is restricted due to surgery, you need to look for alternative forms of protein. If allowed Puréed Food, here are some alternative protein sources. Everyone is different in what they can tolerate.
You could also check with your care team about what you are allowed.
I found this list of Protein Sources on a web site:
• Yogurt (plain or sugar free, low or nonfat, blended without fruit chunks)
• Strained cream soups (celery, potato, mushroom, or chicken made with skim milk)
• Skim milk with ½ scoop protein powder
• Protein supplements added to food or water for extra protein
• Mashed cottage cheese (low or nonfat, small curd)
• Ricotta cheese (low or nonfat)
• Scrambled eggs or egg substitute
• Puréed beef, chicken, or turkey
• Baby food meats
• White fish (cod, haddock, tilapia, orange roughy) mashed with a fork
• Canned chicken breast, mashed and moist
• Canned tuna fish in water, mashed

Hello! My name is Victoria. I am from northern Wisconsin. I am just starting my weight loss journey. My current weight is 260 lb. My highest was 275 lb. I am hoping to get approved for surgery. I have been on ozempic for 3 years, and my weight loss has stoped. I have not met the surgeon yet. I am nervous for the long road to the surgery and after the surgery. I am diabetic and have MS. I am hoping to eliminate a lot of the medications I am on for diabetes and focus on my MS diagnosis. I have been on insulin for 2 years and I’m over it. Little more about me. I am married with 5 cats and 1 dog. I love working in animal rescue. I am disabled. I enjoy going for walks when it’s nice out. I’m hoping to just change my life and work on bettering my health.
Hello my name is Amber. I had gastric bypass rueny on 9/23 developed dumping syndrome while in the hospital. Weightloss was steady but now has stopped for 2 weeks. I also have been back since for dehydration. I have been having these episodes and hoping someone can assure me of normal or maybe has had this issue since. Yesterday I got really hot, then lightheaded which lead to a hollow feeling in my chest. I left work early and laid down. This morning it continues so dizzy unless I'm horizontal. Every time I stand or my eyes move side to side it feels like vertigo. My blood sugars are normal my water intake and food are fine. I write into my surgeon. Again. Has anyone expiernced this at all? I'm hoping so to find some answers
