Does anyone wake up daily at 3am?

I have problems falling sleep. I haven’t able to have good night sleep as fatas I can remember. Went I finally fell sleep I have broken sleep pattern, and I wake up every night at 3am, I do not know why and I cannot fall sleep again, sometimes I go back to sleep at 6am. I do not feel refreshed in the morning. I have black circle under my eyes from the lack of sleep. Also feel irritated, sad, and brain fog/forgetful from lack of sleep. This is terrible. Any one have similar issues. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I have experienced every sleep and insomnia issue that you could imagine including waking up at 3:00 a.m. and not being able to get back to sleep we'll get him back to sleep a couple of hours later. I've tried numerous prescribed medications, some of which help but make me feel groggy and concerned about brain health. For several weeks now I have been getting approximately 7 hours sleep per night taking Delta 8 and Delta 9 gummies. I Take 5 mg Delta 8 in the early evening and a combination of approximately 20 mg of Delta 8 and Delta 9 at bedtime. This has helped me sleep throughout the night with minimal morning grogginess. There are numerous purveyors of gummies but one that I have been using that has high quality is The Hemp Doctor, which you can access online. They also have a phone number that you can call to talk about your need and seek their advice.

Insomnia like this is often a symptom of depression, and the irritability and sadness certainly is as well. Certain sedating antidepressants like trazadone or low dose amitryptilene can help a great deal. It’s also important to entertain the possibility of sleep apnea causing the daytime symptoms. I would discuss this with your Dr. Many PCPs will prescribe those meds. They are safer than sleeping pills and not addictive so can be used long term. They are both very old, tried and true meds, and are inexpensive. I hope you will consider this and talk to your Dr. A good night sleep is essential!

I am with you, Chuckie. Short story: tried seemingly every non-Rx solution for 3 AM wake-up issue. Only THC taken as an oral drop has solved by sleep issues. I have added numerous comments about it on these here screens. So happy that you have discovered what Mother Nature gave us. How long has it been useful to you?

I have tried it on and off for a while but only until about 2 to 3 months ago did I get the right combination.

I see advice to resort to melatonin, but only if you awaken. I take it at bedtime, and find that it helps me to stay asleep the few nights in a month when I elect to use it. I keep it, and zopiclone, potent by not using them more than about once a week. In fact, since getting over my atrial fibrillation via a second, successful, catheter ablation, I haven't used zopiclone in over 16 months. Don't get me wrong: I do fall asleep quite well, but I just don't stay asleep if I awaken for some reason after, even four whole hours. I can sometimes get back to sleep if I lie there and ruminate for an hour or more, but it's only 50/50 on that account.

I'm not like everyone reading this, and you won't be like me. I tough out the rough nights when I know I'm going to be lucky to get four or five hours, and I'll do this two/three nights running until I take melatonin...3-5 mg only. After a really rough spell, I used to take i/4 tablet of zopiclone because it seemed to do the trick. In fact, because he knew I have sleep apnea, the pharmacist who filled the prescription for one tab as needed suggested I cut each tab in half and to try that. I did, first night, and it worked so well that I felt I really owed it to myself to try the quarter dose. I'd give that quarter tab about a C+ grade, good enough, but not great enough.

I have similar problems. I believe my insomnia is caused by my fibromyalgia. I suggest you try and have a sleep study done to determine if your sleep issues could be due to sleep apnea. My sleep study didn't find any reason for my insomnia. You could ask your Dr for a prescription for Trazodone, an antidepressant often used by people who have sleep issues. It has a side effect of making you sleepy so mainly helps with falling asleep, but it helps some people sleep through the night. Thirty minutes before bed, I take a sleep gummy that contains 10mg CBN and 5mg THC (from Minny Grown). About 15-20 minutes later I take 2.5mg melatonin and 50mg Trazodone. This usually help me get 5-6 hrs of sleep. Charlotte's Web sells sleep gummys called "Stay Asleep", dosage is two gummy's that contain 10mg CBN each. I've tried them but only take one gummy.

Oh my goodness! Thank you very much. You’re right on. I am suffering from depression and anxiety for as far as I could remember. Also diagnosed with mild sleep apnea about 6 years ago. I have not been treated for sleep apnea. Thank you
