@annette18 I think this is the article you are referring to:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0924857924001961
At this point, this is a promising but very preliminary study which was conducted on lab mice in Europe. I'm not sure how you contact the researchers, but in any case they are many iterations away from any kind of human trials. A few of the listed authors on the article have a small envelop icon next to the name, this usually indicates an email address is available.

Thank you for the information. I’m looking for a natural approach for abscessus. Phages treatment is a possibility but I’m told I need to take 3 different antibiotics for 2 yrs n IV therapy daily for 6 weeks before being considered for that therapy. I’m in my eighties n don’t know how effective it would be for me. n side effects.
I’m taking lung supplements Turmeric , ginger, vitamins n herbs

Annette, at this point the availability of phage therapy for mycobacteria is very limited, and as you learned, you must have failed antibiotic therapy to be considered. There are no known natural cures for M abscessus - but airway clearance with 7% saline nebs could help tamp it down if you are determined not to use anitbiotics.

Have you considered trying the antibiotics to see if you can manage the side effects?

Sometimes we need to take baby steps. Is your doctor willing to consider a 2 month oral antibiotic therapy and 7%saline/airway clearance trial followed by a CT and sputum culture to see if the infection is beginning to respond? Then if it is not, you can revisit the PICC line matter.

Who prescribed the medications? That is who you need to discuss it with.

I do not see Mayo for my Bronchiectasis, but you go through the Mycobacterial and Bronchiectasis Clinic to request an appointment:

Just be prepared for a wait, as it can sometimes take months to get an appointment if the doctors' schedules are full.
