Is there any med that relieves mild but constant pain?
Tomorrow I am scheduled to drive sixty miles into the city to visit the pain management chap that the ortho Doctors I saw four years ago use. At that time, they offered me 3 or 4 opioid type medicines to help with the peroneal nerve pain, none of which did any good. I understand the one I am to see tomorrow does not prescribe opioids at all. I mention that only as information, as I Never used any of the previously supplied drugs for more than two or three days.
My Question is, Are new and effective drugs available today that were not available 4 years ago? Is it worth it to make the drive?

I feel occasionally that I have a vice grip that surrounds my instep & recently it caused me not to be able drive safely for the first time. I’m grateful to have been with my wife who drove instead that day - it was the most serious flare up yet. I started wearing OrthoFeet shoes which give me some relief but more than anything, a hard bike ride outdoors or on a stationary bike increase blood flow & relax my body (feet) & mind. If I can get on the bike daily, I’m sure I would continue to get the most relief.
I accidentally got a few pair of No show socks that have left and right printed on them. They are thicker in important places. I ordered another half dozen.
I’m not sure if this is the correct place to ask a question but here goes.
I have neuropathy in my feet but it has greatly worsened in the past few months. Now the last month I have prickly, itchy feelings in my upper arms that comes and goes. Of course it is worse at night! It cycles in and out, waking me up, most of the night. Does this have anything to do with my neuropathy? Any suggestions?
Your medical provider should answer this question. But since I have had a similar thing where 4 years of foot pain became more painful sensations in my upper leg, hip to knee and my neurologist said that the good news was it wouldn't get worse. So, yes. Its.
LDN does work for pain, as discussed here often. I’ve been on it for almost two years & it works well for me. See info here:

I started taking tramadol.
Didn't help.
Thanks for your service.I enlisted in '66 and couldn't wait to get over there, like a dummy. Did all my time state side.
I have had same problem. It’s our mast cells releasing Histamine which makes us itch. We are eating something our immune system sees as an enemy. Take Allegra and the itching stop. It’s comes in 12 hrs and 24hrs duration.
Physical Therapy would be my first stop for help.
