My husband's dermatologist recommended medihoney which provided a barrier and took away the pain. My husband was allergic to citric acid, so we were limited in what we could use, but those medihoney patches were fabulous! I'd never heard of them, but when we mentioned them to home health, they had a box of them shipped to us.
I totally get it. WORSE spot ever. I use air cushion but unfortunately after a short timr the gauze folds and starts to hurt.
My husband suffers from a pressure wound on his backside, right in the crack between his cheeks. His dr. ordered a home health nurse who comes twice weekly. She orders all his supplies and Medicare pays for everything. Your dr. may be able to get you some help in your home.
My husband fractured his back and spent a lot of time on his butt. 😁 he mentioned his butt hurt one day and when I looked he had a sore, after much research I found Terrasil on Amazon it was amazing healed in a few days although it was small but big enough to hurt. I also bought him a memory foam seat pillow on Amazon that helped tremendously also.
I’ve used medihoney cream and SOLOSITE Gel Hydrogel Wound Gel for my dad. They both worked very well along with the mepilex border sacrum pads which come in different sizes - all can be ordered on Amazon.
