Vivid awakening nightmares, sweating, hot flashes every night

Posted by mdplastics @mdplastics, May 1, 2022

I am a liver transplant patient seven months post transplant. I have had night sweats with awakening vivid nightmares and hot flashes every night since transplant. Sleep is disturbed and I wake up tired every morning. Remain fatigued and have lost endurance. Also get very tired very easily during the day and need to take a long nap almost every day. I am unable to multitask, become forgetful, and don’t have good reflexes when I get tired so unable to drive. It’s like a brain fog. Blood draws are every two weeks and stable. I am on Tacrolimus and Everolimus. Wonder if anyone else has had similar symptoms. It’s quite a struggle for me.

Hi, @greek03. I want to say Welcome to Connect! I'm a 'few' miles away in Central Kentucky and I'm happy that you have joined in the conversation. I am not sure who you were responding to, so I"d like to ask you how you are feeling at 5 months post transplant. What brings you to Connect? What organ have you received?

Hi Rosemary. Thank you very Much. I was replying to Mdplastics. Im felling better than i was. Although im still feeling very tired and extremely exhausted. Having wild dreams some tremors/ shakes at night. Feeling cold and hot flashes. I received a Liver Transplant. I like to be able to talk/ chat with other members about how they are feeling. I can learn things from them and i like to offer support if i can. If its only talking. I appreciate you responding to my msg.

Hi @greek03, I'd like to add my belated welcome to @rosemarya's. I'm confident that @mdplastics appreciated your response about having vivid awakening nightmares. Five months after transplant do these symptoms persist?

Hello Colleen. I thank you very much. I hope my comments help. I think this is a great thing to have for support. Yes im still experiencing these. Also having some soreness still from my incisions and where they had to use the rib splitter to be able to remove my liver. There was an issue because of a previous incision from a car accident i was in. I thought i would join to see what others were experiencing so i could understand if it was just me that this might be happening too. I know how difficult these times are for everyone. So if there is anyone reading this and has any questions or concerns thoughts whatever please ask. Say anything whatever is on your mind. Id be glad to talk with anyone having any concerns about their transplant. Again @colleenyoung thank you 😊
