6 year old with intermittent stomach pain for 1 month
Over the last month, my 6 year old son has had 3 incidents of upset stomach. Each time he complains of intense stomach pain, usually has a temp in the 99s, low appetite and lower energy. This lasts 24-48 hours. Once he had no GI symptoms, one time he had one incident of diarrhea, and one time he had one episode of vomiting. He will go from feeling fine to feeling sick all of a sudden. No prior history of stomach issues, no difficulty with bowel movements, no food allergies or noted connections to certain foods each time. In between issues, he is eating and behaving fine. What am I missing? I feel it is too coincidental that they are all unrelated as 3 separate incidents in a short period when there is no prior history of stomach issues. What could the possible causes be? Gallbladder attack, appendicitis, h pylori? Could any of these be possible?

I understand your concern about your son’s abdominal pain episodes.
Gallbladder problems are not common in young kids. Appendicitis should not be ruled out even if it’s brief episodes. There could be several causes in children- infections, temporary obstructions etc.
Your best bet is having him seen by his pediatrician.
It’s definitely harder to figure out why children have abdominal pain.
Let us know what the outcome is!
Call me crazy but why haven’t you taken him to the Emergency Room in the first place-instead of coming here for answers???? It’s been a month already - if you can’t afford it they can’t refuse you- It’s the law-Abdominal pain in children can be caused by many different reasons, you need blood test & scans for that…No one not even a mentor from this site could give you the correct answer by just reading what you wrote, till you get test done plan & simple…..perhaps Check the kids at his school-
Did anybody get sick within the last couple of weeks-that he was with? Sometimes the most obvious signs are being overlooked…
Remember the Emergency Room can’t refuse you
You will get all the proper
Care & test done that you need
More so than any site could offer.
