Blood glucose
I have been on Camzyos for 6 months and during that time my blood glucose has been higher than before. Anyone else experience this?

Hello there @abqpatriotsfan, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm glad you found this online support community. Have you had a chance to read any of the many posts from the Camzyos group? Here is a link for that:

Camzyos is relatively new, and there may be side effects the drug manufacturer has not noted before. While we wait for some of the Camzyos folks to respond, have you had a chance to ask your cardiologist or pharmacist if increased glucose is a side effect?
I have asked my Cardiologist and pharmacy specialist and neither has heard of this I also reported it to the Camzyos nurse manager.
I just started Camzyos 8/2/24 (5 mg) which was lowered to (2.5 mg) on 8/31/24 and had labwork 10/4/24. I also take 5 mg atorvastatin. My blood work 6 mos ago was beautiful. Although I have been maintaining a low carbohydrate and low sugar diet, my blood glucose, A1c and cholesterol/triglyceride readings have all increased somewhat. I am puzzled and wondered if the Camzyos could be having an effect.
Hello @mpjg, and welcome to Mayo Connect, I am glad you found this online support community!
@abqpatriotsfan mentioned the same situation and did some research without confirming Camzyos caused increased blood glucose.
I am not on Camzyos, I had a septal myectomy for my HOCM, but there are lots of people in the Camzyos support group, so hopefully some of them can jump in here and share if they have experienced an increase in glucose while taking Camzyos.
Has your doctor gone over your lab results with you? Have you had a chance to ask your doctor or the specialty pharmacist if Camzyos may be responsible for this increase?
If it were me, I would definitely give their office a call on Monday!
Yes, thank you, I shall be in touch with them. Also managing hypothyroidism and pre-diabetes and want to preempt my endocrinologist's concern.
I have been on those 2 drugs for over a year and my blood work is good. I take 15 mg ca.mzyos a d 20 of the statin. For sure each person reacts differently so worth watching.
