Medication Issues
I changed depressions meds last November after being on Lexapro for 5 years because my depression was getting worse. I have been on 3 different medications since then (Sertraline, Prozac, and Venlafaxine) and decided that the side effects of these medications were worse than my depression. I decided to stopped the meds. Unfortunately after 4 weeks I was facing a serious decline in my mental health and found a new psychiatrist to get some help. She recommended Remeron. After three days the side effects are worse than any other meds I have taken and will stop yet another medication. I don’t know where to go from here. I will talk to my doctor but am even more depressed and don’t know where to turn.

Don't apologize. Lots of advice can be helpful.
You can take some of it or not. Have you tried keeping
a journal? Writing out what you are feeling or struggling with can be freeing in some respects..........also when
you read what you have written in a week or two, sometimes
you have a new perspective. K
I’m taking the same drug Remeron or Mirtazapine, started on 7.5 mg., I knew very quickly it wasn’t for me, the side effects are horrible but I persevered for a while longer, I contacted the doctor who told me to increase to 15 mg., yeah right. I tried to get off them myself but it made the situation worse so now I’m trying 3.75 mg. until I speak to him on October eighth. What an awful drug to put someone on who suffers from severe anxiety and rapid heart beats, he didn’t even monitor how I was doing. I would like to find another doctor who cares how I’m doing but the process to do this is complicated because I take a low dose of Ativan, I did look into it and they said it can take quite some time to find another doctor due to shortages in Canada, they said that I first have to leave the doctor I’m with before they can do anything and if I need Ativan I will have to go to the hospital for help, I truly find the process daunting because you’re waiting up to 6 hours to see someone. I know that it’s such a vast difference between medical care in Canada and what you have available and I truly envy your system and having lots of doctors available for your needs. sadly a lot of the doctors in the US came from Canada because they can earn more money there, obviously they didn’t go into their profession for the love of humanity
Pristiq and mood elevator Lamictal has been pretty good for me.
