All rooms private in Rochester?
I’m coming to Mayo Rochester for heart bypass surgery and am wondering if all rooms are private. Very concerned about impact on my recovery if I have to deal with a roommate and their visitors.

"During the first 4-6 weeks it seemed like every day there was a different pain...dull headache, soreness in chest, leg pain from where they harvested an artery, etc. I didn't know it was my body healing, so everything freaked me out! I think just knowing that its normal and it will pass would have eased my mind." The day-to-day changes are more subtle in both positive and negative ways and often it seems no progress is made. Discouraging. This thought helped me and I tell people for all kinds of surgeries: Compare how you feel from week to week instead of day to day. How do you feel today as compared to last Wednesday? It's a psychological crutch, but it may be helpful and encouraging.
Hi @luhn, how are you doing? Can I help connect you with the support group most relevant to you? What heart condition are you living with and for which you may need surgery?
Thank you for reaching out. I've been battling dizziness since Labor Day weekend. Had to present to ER and all tests were inconclusive, so just working on eliminating that. Think it is inner ear related, but a couple more weeks before I can get in to PCP. In meantime trying some allergy med suggested to me by a friend and that seems to have made a difference today anyway. Thanks again!
I have ascending aortic dilatation (or aneurysm), but too small for surgery yet, thankfully. Watch and see with yearly followups. Just found out an in-law also is watching this as his sister passed suddenly from it at age 57 in otherwise great health. His is also too small for surgery currently. Maybe we both will be blessed with no change in the size in the future? Hope so. Thanks for your care and concern! means a lot.
