Nights sweats and Shingrix vaccine
I had the shingles vaccine on May 4. That night I experienced a terrible night sweat. Ever since that night I sweat every night excessively. At least one or two nights a week I must get up and change my night clothes completely. I am on immune suppressant drugs. Has anyone else experienced this?

This has happened to me too! Did yours stop? I just got my vaccination last week and I’m having constant hot flashes and night sweats. I was not experiencing these symptoms until the shot. It’s awful!
@carazen Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! Seems like you got the same side effects as everyone else! Good because you’re not alone and bad because it’s still miserable! I haven’t gotten mine yet—my neurologist keeps saying ‘wait.’
Tell us more about yourself! Do you have an autoimmune disease that we can help you with?
2 1/2 weeks after 2nd shingles shot and have had crazy night sweats! Soaking wet night sweats. I didn’t have these this bad during menopause.
I’ve had fullness in my ear, and weakness and tiredness that is awful.
First shot I only had sire arm, 2nd I was extremely ill for about 28 hours,a headache like I never had before thought my brain was on fire, couldn’t lift head off pillow, couldn’t/didn’t want to eat or drink.
I am still having joint aches, fullness in ear, swelling and stiffness in hands and feet in morning. Lack of appetite but no weight loss. I’m able to eat about 900 calories a day.
I don’t have autoimmune disease or any other conditions. I am 63 years old and very healthy until this shot
I’m 64 and I regret second dose of shingrix vaccine. I have been experiencing hot flashes daily on average of 10 per day and disrupts my sleep making me sweat profusely causing me to change my soaked pjs. I went thru menopause 15 years ago and it was brutal. Why is this happening ? I think maker of this vaccine is hiding something! How do I stop these hot flashes? Will be seeing my doctor in a week to discuss. Ladies beware !
How long have you had sweats and is it all day or just nights?
Hope this stops for you soon. I have had my first dose and only got a sore arm. I have been in antivirals for over a year now. I had shingles over half of my boy from navel right around to my spine.it kept recurring so I had them 3 times last year. I still have nerve damage and pain and was advised by my infectious disease specialist to get the vaccine. I also have lupus and Sjögren’s. My friends all rushed out after seeing me in excruciating pain and vomiting for 3 months to get vaccinated and all have had no problems . I hope you can get this sorted and find out if it’s the vaccine or thyroid etc.
I am so sorry about your hot flashes. These vaccines are killing us in my opinion. Covid shot really screwed me up. But I won't go into everything.
Suggestion for hot flashes is Veozah. I've been taking it for 2 years and it's a miracle for me. I turned 65 in July and I can't get Medicare to pay. I have to pay $165 . Coupons don't work if you're on Medicare or government program. I hope you can try this. Also it doesn't have hormones.
Hi there
Thank u for the suggestion. I turned 64 in July and it’s hot flashes like menopause all over again. 🤦🏻♀️😱I’m on Medicare and I’m sure they won’t pay for it for me as well. I have a Dr appt in couple days and was intending to ask for this drug. I can’t take estrogen due to it causing blood clots from years ago it when dr prescribed it then says no more estrogen !
This drug veozah would be perfect due to it not having hormones
Medicare doesn’t want to cover this medicine. It is medically necessary because a physician has to order it.
Seniors like us who worked hard all our lives and now are being asked to pay for a drug that should be covered.
I’m on fixed income and there is no way I have $165 for veozah. Thank you for your reply. May you have better days ahead

I got my 1st shingles vaccine on Friday. Felt a bit sore at the injection site but that's it. The next day light flu-like symptoms. 3rd day same thing .... then night sweats, soaking wet pillow and sheets. Felt better by the 4th day, but night sweats again.
This is the 5th night. Let's hope this doesn't continue.
@letankfrank, I hope your symptoms go away soon. I had both shingles shots several ago and I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones who had absolutely no side effects from either shot. Praying that you get relief soon.
