Side effects leaving after EVENITY.

Posted by bjgrace @bjgrace, Sep 4 7:33am

I am expecting dose 8 of EVENITY. I have had a few side effects mainly joint pain in hips and legs. I am curious to know from others who have finished EVENITY if the side effects disappear over time. I find that the joint pain comes and goes. I am very active and find that the joint pain really interferes with life. Thanks.

@pami

Could you share what gains you had on Evenity? I just had my 7th Evenity shots. I have a lot of neck stiffness. I am determined to finish the twelve months!

My doc assures me there were gains but it's hard to compare this deja-scan measure with the measures I had in New York (now in Georgia). I see him in October
after a second scan and will 1. ask about options to osteoporosis meds and 2. ask how to use previous scans to measure progress or lack there of. Will report back what I learned.

Thank you! I hope you continue to improve along this interesting journey.

There are a few people who have tried HRT to lock in gains. You may want to read those threads. I’m supposed to start Evenity and “may” consider Hrt post Evenity.

Completed year of Evenity in January 2024 and symptoms are gone: hip soreness, foot pain, cramps, arm pains. Now awaiting second shot of Prolia and debating whether to continue or try naturopath approach. Any suggestions?

So glad ur side effects are gone, but did you have them the whole year of injections? I may be going on Evenity in October. I had ankle pain for the last 6 months on Tymlos and it wasn’t fun.

I finished 12 months Evenity in July and my end of Aug. Dexa showed 15.4% overall improvement and my spine went from osteoperosis to ostopenia. Improvements in each area. Now I am on weekly Alendronate.

I also just finished Evenity. I got 10.7% spine. 10.4% right hip. 5% for the other three joints. So I’m happy.

What is your experience with taking Alendronate? Thanks.

I have no problems with it. It requires you to take it 30 min. before eating anything and with a glass of water and you must not lie down in those 30 min. Once a week is no problem for me to do that.
