Anyone have extreme itchy back?
Just curious if anyone has extreme itching of your back . I have COPD, MAC and Bronchiectasis. This itch seems deep in the tissue. The sensation is a cross between itching/pain and numbness. Scratching does make it feel better. It feels like something is "there"

I have the same problem. They say my phosphorus is to high
I am also sooo itchy!! I have it on my back, legs, arms and scalp. I have MAC, COPD and bronchiectasis and I am on daily Azithromycin, Ethambutol, Rifampin and Arikayce. I do have dry skin and as I get older I notice more sensitivity. I had to stop wearing any kind of perfume and makeup. I didn't have this itchiness though, until I started these antibiotics.
Google notalgia paresthetica - that was the diagnosis given to me and my friends who all have the same issue
If your phosphorus is high, maybe get your kidney function checked. Kidney issues can cause itching.
Yes I do! I thought it was dry skin.
I do as well. Thought it was dry skin.
Hi all. Yes, I have been on the 3 antibiotics for 2 months ad itching has gotten progressively worse. i figured it was the result of antibiotics. Will look into possible causes, have blood work in two weeks and will see if there is anything "off". May just be one of the side effects we need to monitor on our road to recovery.
As a separate question, have any of you gotten all the fall vaccines? is there anything i need to be aware of?
I saw my infectious disease doctor today and told him about the itching. He was very confident that it is the antibiotics causing it and recommended Benadryl. I took 2 tonight and hoping it helps!
I had itching over whole body, allergist put me on Zyrtec starting with 20 mg and if need step up to 40 mg. Sp far 20 is working. I also found this article which I find interesting -https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/mast-cell-activation-syndrome.
Thanks for bringing this issue up since I really thought my itchiness was due to dry skin. I've been on the Big 3 since 9/22 and Arikayce 7/23 to 4/24. The crazy itchiness started with the back, then the feet and hands but not all at once and never to the point that I could not function. Daily, I need to give my back a very deep and hard scratch. I find itchiness of the hands and feet to be most problematic.
