I first learned about this in July 2023. Linda Esposito sent me this image of the slide from the presentation. Thanks, Linda!

I also carry a SteriPen in my purse which was another thing Dr. Falkinham tested. In restaurants I ask for water with no ice and stir with the pen for 90 seconds. I also use it when I visit my daughter, or my friend, or stay in a hotel. It makes for being a slightly less "high-maintenance" guest!

Yes, Scoop, that's the one I have, which I purchased from REI. It's been very helpful to me.

Oh good, maybe you can answer some questions I have about it.

I've read that water that has been "SteriPenned", the bacteria can activate again unless kept in a container that UV cannot penetrate. Is my understanding correct? What container do you use with it? Or maybe you drink/use the water right away?

I drink it immediately, or in the case of staying in someone's house, I sterilize it in a stainless steel bottle and drink it within the day. I like that by having it with me I can always access safe water... and can avoid adding to the plastic pollution.

Hi lilianna. Yes, the LifeStraw pitchers have a pore size microfilter of 0.2 micron. I have one that I use for cleaning my nebulizer and Aerobika parts and am pleased with it.

Yes I started using Life Straw water pitcher, they claimed to be able to filter bacteria. We hope for the best Thanks for this support group.

Has anyone bought, used, using the LARGE Life Straw Community Filter.
I was thinking of it for various reasons including an emergency... placing the large Life Straw Community Filter in the garage with access to it from the kitchen.
My thoughts are to keep it filled most all the time by putting more water in it every other day etc. and just taking out enough each day and placing the water into another container (if I see that I need to) to keep in the kitchen for what I will possibly need for the cleaning of fruits, veggies, drinking, cooking etc. etc.
Any thoughts you might have of my doing this vs. just the Life Straw Pitcher ...... The Life Straw Pitcher from what little I understand may not be enough to do all I mentioned above each day.
I haven't put in a filter on the hot water tank or at the kitchen faucet and need to do something. I have drained the hot water tank and keep it on 150 degress. I boil water for a full 15 minutes for drinking. I do rinse veggies and fruits with the cold side water and I have taken off the aerator filter in the kitchen and bathroom faucets. Water is boiled for cleaning nebulizer and Aerobika. Diagnosed in 2022 and have not had to go on antibiotics, yet. No exacerbations, yet. I will know better how I am doing without my filtering water after October when I have my third CScan and the August, September, October sputum results. All thoughts about what I am thinking of, any and all negative or positve thoughts, will be helpful and especially from those having dealt with all things related to BE longer than I have. Thanks, Barbara
