PLEASE share what helps for severe anxiety & burning skin feeling
Suffering now for 3 yrs now. Every week brings on an unbearable new symptom. I just can't go on like this. I can't get any help from the numerous doctors and specialists I've seen, to include Mayo. My 40+ symptoms and pain are unbea
Like many of us, I was such a very, very healthy and active person pre-covid. I hate this beast that has robbed me of my life. Why would anyone create such a horrible virus and weapon. I worked so hard in saving for retirement and looked so forward to that day. I want my life back. rable.
As I type, I am experiencing. indescribable and so such painful burning sensations of my skin everywhere along with nerve pain. On a scale of 1-10. . . and 20! This includes pain even in my eyes.
My anxiety is off the charts which I have never experienced in my life, pre-covid. I can't even lay down and close my eyes to rests because the min my eyes close, I'm jolted into what feels like a "fight or flight" mode which I'm in 24/7.
Please, if anyone on this forum has the same terrible symptoms and found relief, please chime in for support. I'm pacing around the house due to the pain, I can't lay down, it's worse and I just want to scream.
Every day, all day I pray to our Dearest Lord Jesus for help. Being alone and so scared doesn't help.
Why is it most everyone in the world gets covid, some even 2+ times and recovers fine, and we're suffering so? I wasn't vaccinated, but I know others that weren't as well, and they recovered.
I keep thinking, "if I only had been vaccinated, I wouldn't be living in such torment. or when I had covid if I had received the monoclonal antibodies, but my doctor would order it and told me I would be fine. Wrong!
I'm in such agonizing pain and down to 89 lbs now and no help anywhere.

The suggestions are great AND each of us is experiencing so much so differently that even these don't always.
The burning skin on my feet that seems to be from the rash that was on my leg (it just hurts where the rash never fully left) that lead to the cracked heel bottoms seems to respond to nothing. It wakes me and hampers my feeling better during the day. Visits to podiatrists, dermatologists, and others have not solved the issues.
We remain the great medical mysteries, don't we?
I feel for you big time. I have been burning all over, like severe sun burn, for three years and four months non-stop. However I haven't knowingly had Covid, never tested positive for it, and haven't had other symptoms.
It seems to be stress related, and there are no marks on the body to show for it, nor any change in temperature on the skin itself.
Nothing I've tried has worked so far, and that level of distress you describe is horribly familiar. It does get to the level of panic attacks.
I want to be able to give you an easy 'fix' but all I can do is let you know you're alone with these symptoms. If I find a solution I will post it here straight away!
Is it due to to Covid, are you certain of that?
People have told me it comes from being vaccinated, which I know is ridiculous because the condition started months BEFORE being vaccinated.
I see you posted this in 2023, I hope you've found a way through this.
It's brutal pain. Like the worst sunburn, non-stop, but with no visible symptoms.
I’m happy to report the burning skin has decreased for me. I don’t why, only that I’ve been doing a lot of work to help support good health. And, I’m not sure of the cause, though I have a list of several potential culprits. As I learn more, I hope to arrive at a more definitive diagnosis and recognition of a treatment. It is very distressing thing to live with….for me, the intermittent nature was quite frustrating. It appeared and left without warning.
That's great to hear, I also understand how wary you might be without knowing what caused it, as you won't know how to prevent it coming back!
It's good to known it CAN go away!
The burning skin feeling described here sounds like paresthesia, sometimes called pins and needles. I often describe it to people as feeling like a severe sun burn all over my body. I began noticing it at about 2 months into my LC journey in my upper torso, now 7 months in it’s all over. I always know it’s there, but it intensifies when I start overdoing it. Sometimes it’s my warning to stop and rest. It also seems to intensify at night, when I’m tired and on a hot day. One treatment which my doctor prescribed was an antidepressant, but I had so many side effects, I decided to just live with it for now. While it’s very frustrating and sometimes painful, for me it’s not debilitating. I’m sorry it’s so bad for you.
One of the things which helps me with that gnawing anxiety is Valerian—highest dosage available online. Inexpensive and no side effects. If I feel a wave of anxiety coming on I’ll take one and sometimes need a second one 2 hours later.
Every evening palms of hands& bottoms of feet set up hours of burning. Have to keep at bedtime feet&hands sticking out of bed covers until cold will wake me back up 3a.m. Nothing helps
I have similar, though not nearly as intense. A type of neuropathy. You might check with your doctor about DULoxatine (cymbalta) some studies show success. The side effects bothered me too much so I stopped, but could be worth a try for you. Praying you find some relief.
