Foot neuropathy: What gives you relief?

Posted by kathrina @kathrina, Nov 5, 2019

It seems if I get enough activity/exercise daily I don’t have pain; if not, am awakened from sleep and must get up (even in the middle of the night). What’s going on & what more should I do to avoid rest-disruption?

I have neuropathy in my feet. It’s also beginning to enter my hands. I get relief from magnesium lotion or oil on my feet. Helps me sleep through the night and takes away the pain.

Hello @kriscfarmer, Welcome to Connect. Thanks for sharing what helps you. I'm not sure you have had the chance to look through the Neuropathy Support Group here on Connect but their are quite a few different discussions where members have shared what helps them. Do you mind sharing how long you have been dealing with neuropathy?

I take lyrics which helps my neuropathy on my hands , legs and feet. I tried laser treatments so 2000 out of my own pocket didn’t work. Has anyone done the scrambler therapy which is also called the calmare therapy? That’s 3000 for 10 sessions. I’m very frustrated with the nerve pain and it’s depressing and drives me crazy!!

Thank you. Do you have side effects from the Lyrica? What amount ? I have a script for this and haven’t taken. Thank you

Thank you. I’d like to try accupuncture.

Accupuncture seemed to help me with the pain but not the numbness. I only say "seemed" because time also passed and my neuropathy was chemo induced (and maybe some of it would have resolved anyways?). In any case, it wasn't overnight - I stuck with it for months and towards the end of treatment, electrical impulses were also added.

I’ve been using Nervive crème for several months for my feet at night:
It seems to help me: Good luck to you if you try it, please let me know if it works for you:

Thank you. I will certainly try. Some products seem to work for awhile then not so much. So a switch may work. I use an oil with essential oils frankincense and myrrh followed by aloe Vera cream.

Every treatment method doesn’t work for everybody…but give accupuncture a try for at least 4-5 visits. Try to find someone experienced and Chinese - trained, and recommended by folks in your neighborhood. Like everything else, one must be disciplined in eating and fitness. I wish you well and free of debilitating pain. Keep on moving!

Thank you everyone for your comments. I have been on this journey for about 2 years. I will look to find accupuncture in my area. Good thoughts for each person experiencing this medical issue. So many unknowns.

Has anyone used proleviate for pain relief?

@jonny123
It mentions some conditions but neuropathy wasn’t one of them. I wouldn't spend $50 on it. I only take supplements my doctor recommends. Have you asked your physiciyabout it?
Take care,
Jake
