Foot neuropathy: What gives you relief?

Posted by kathrina @kathrina, Nov 5, 2019

It seems if I get enough activity/exercise daily I don’t have pain; if not, am awakened from sleep and must get up (even in the middle of the night). What’s going on & what more should I do to avoid rest-disruption?

My question is what is the best device or treatment for Neuropathy in the Legs and feet?

Hello @edward1941, Welcome to Connect. When you post a comment on Connect it can sometimes take awhile before you see a response from anyone. You're asking a good question but I think the answer is not the same for everyone. What helps some won't always help everyone. There are many members such as yourself actively looking for something that will help and sharing their experiences with one another. Here's the list of discussions and comments from members that I found when I searched Connect for "neuropathy what helps" - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=neuropathy+what+helps.

How long have you had neuropathy? What are the symptoms that bother you the most?

Hi thank you for the information but I was wondering why you use zip lock bags to apply the cream? Thanks

Capsaicin is an active component of chili peppers; it can irritate eyes and sensitive skin. Gloves help avoid spreading the cream to your eyes or other sensitive skin areas, like wearing gloves to protect your hands (and eyes) while working with hot chilies in the kitchen.

Depends on the severity. On a scale of 1 to 10, what is your daily average, all things considered? (10 is worst pain you can imagine).

I use an amazing CBD topical cream that works very well for me, the brand is called TerraVibe and when used anywhere on the body it makes you forget about the pain.

I got relief from pain with months of regular accupuncture. I don't have the pain anymore - just the numbness. I have experienced a little improvement of the numbness through wearing barefoot shoes inside and outside ... and applying magnesium cream drizzled with castor oil daily.

have tingling and numbness in my feet, but little pain. I find the numbness is tolerable. I have pain in my hands which I attribute to neuropathy. I take gabapentin for anxiety and perhaps it is made the feet and hands pain tolerable. But as a general rule, I just live with it. Give me some ideas on dealing with the hand pain, please! Thanks for your post.

Hello, can you tell me, specifically, what magnesium cream you use? There are so many out there!
Thank you!
