Showers at Mayo?

Hello. I am visiting Mayo for the first time tomorrow and am driving from another state. I won’t check in to my lodging until the afternoon at Mayo and am wondering if anyone knows of where I might be able to take a shower before my morning appointment?

I tried looking on the Mayo site, Googling, etc but am not finding anything. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi @torim, right off hand I can’t think of anywhere in the clinic that has public showers available. It’s unfortunate you can check in early at your hotel, but I know the rooms are often not ready until after 3 or 4.

If you’re driving from out of state, maybe packing a zip lock baggie with some fresh, soapy washcloths and clean hand towel would at least give you a chance to freshen up in one of the numerous bathrooms in the clinic.
There are also prepackaged wipes such as Cottenelle or baby wipes that could do in a pinch!

Hello @torim, unfortunately, Mayo does not have showers open to the public to use. However, I agree with @loribmt that you would be able to freshen up when you get to the clinic or even at a quick stop before you get to your appointments. Good luck with your visit with the clinic.

Some of the big truck stops have showers for public use, but I'm not sure there are any really close to Rochester.

If you are driving from the east, about 25 miles east of Rochester along I-90 is a new Love's truck stop. They have showers . And cheaper gas than anywhere else around. You may also want to call your doctor's office and ask the nurse for his/her advice.
