How or where to volunteer to help save someones vision?

I have read that the eye injections for AMD works for 90% of patients who receive them. I've heard and have read great reviews.
In reality, only about 50% of patients benefit from the eye injections mainly because they have to rely on others to get them to their appointments so they can get the required scheduled injections. Without a ride they cannot get the injections to keep their vision and without it they will lose their central vision. This is the saddest thing I have ever read and what's even sadder is I have not been able to find a way to volunteer my time to help the less fortunate get to their appointments or to help them with other things like meal prep, grocery shopping, or anything they may need or require additional help with. Does ANYONE know where or who I can call to volunteer my time to help someone keep their vision???
I live in Maryland.
