Has anyone been using Tymlos?
Has anyone been using Tymlos? I received devastating news that my bone density score is 4.6, much worse than my age of 72. Recommendation is Tymlos.

Reclast so sorry😝
Mine is also 4.6, I’m 68. I’ve been on Tymlos for a little over a month. I don’t know exactly if it’s working, but my crumbling fingernails are growing nice and strong and that’s encouraging!
After 2 spinal fractures, my spine doctor wants me to see an endocrinologist to treat my osteoporosis, discovered 2 months ago. I absolutely agree that people, let us say over 60, should get a DEXA scan every 2 years. I was diagnosed with Osteopenia in my 50's. No doctor told me about the importance of checking bone density throughout the years. I am in my 70's now.
As far as medication for osteoporosis, I have been scared to try any of them......which is why I didn't keep up with DEXA scans.
My recent 24 hour urine test revealed that I cannot take Tymlos. I am waiting for the endochrinogist's NA to advise me on a treatment plan.
Lord help us when we have to navigate the medical industry, doctors, and medications.
@happy2023 if you have fractures, and cannot take Tymlos or Forteo due to high urinary calcium, chances are your doctor will prescribe Evenity, based on my experience and others here on the forum. Many people have dramatic gains on Evenity and don't suffer too many or any side effects. Of course those who do have side effects also post here.
Thank you, windyshores. Any help, any information boosts my confidence that help may be on the way. I have read good things about Evenity on this forum.
My wishes are that everyone here stays healthy, gets better, has less pain, and finds that place where they can find joy in each and every day and be grateful for the blessings we have in our family, friends, pets.
It is not easy to live with pain or depressions or illnesses that seem to cascade as we age.
I have been on Tymlos almost a year. No side effects except a little belly fat. Won't know if it is working until I get another scan, which is a nuisance!
I will be interested to see how you are doing my dear!! My doc might want to put me on that drug. Jamie
Just started Tymlos as neither Evenity nor two doses of Prolia helped some bones but not hip joint, especially its "sleeve"sle. Daily injections are a minor headache. DEXA and blood work scheduled in a couple of weeks. Will report along the way.
@ferrer1105, Evenity is actually the newest (2019) but not by much (Tymlos 2017). I'm attracted to it because the dosage can be modified.
Slightly off the subject, but happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there. Especially to the folks at Mayo for providing these forums.
