PSA at 74…. What are options?

Posted by dirtdancer @dirtdancer, Aug 8 6:29pm

I have had prostate cancer for 12 years; diagnosed as stage four in 2012. I’ve done lots of treatments and now Erleada and abuteriene …they and Lupron seem to have run their course. My doctor is suggesting nuclear medicine, Pluvicto?. Anybody else dealing with other medication‘s or Options. My PET scan shows lots of cancer involvement in my spine. I am starting to worry.

That's the $1M question. In your situation you could opt for "active surveillance," which means just keeping an eye on it with more frequent testing, but not taking any medical treatment that would temporarily (or even permanently) diminish your quality of life unless it starts showing signs of getting a lot worse (which might not happen for a long time, if ever).

What options did your doctor give you?

I don't know the name of the med, but the process was this: They put markers in his blood to identify the cancer, then administered nuclear meds that targeted the markers. The results were good.
