I feel like I'm dying
i am a healthy (I thought) 43 year old female. 2 weeks ago I was at work. Stood up. Got this pulled muscle sensation in my back around my bra strap area. I then proceeded to have chest pain, shortness of breath, flushed, sensation of hot liquid seeping out into my chest, dizziness, and numb and tingly all over my body. I felt like I was gonna pass out or die. I was rushed to the ER. After several tests, and an overnight stay, they discharged me the next day with Synthroid (thyroid just a tad low) and Flexeril for my back pain. I still had the shortness of breath. But they assured me my heart and lungs were fine. Did not do any x-rays or anything for my back. The next day I was pretty much laid out at home due to the flexeril. The following day, I decided to go back to work. Got up, took a shower, then I started having all the same symptoms as before. I had my son take me to the ER again. They did several tests, said my heart and lungs were fine. The doctor diagnosed me with GERD, and sent me home with Prilosec. I took Prilosec for 4 days, then my PCP had me try Protonix, which by the way, both of these gave me horrible side effects (confusion, delirium-hallucinations) and were not helping my stomach pain and nausea. So, she started me on Zantac, which worked wonders the first couple of days, but seems to have worn off now too. Also, after numerous testing, doctor said my Vitamin D was low, was 11, and should be between 30-80. So I started taking Vitamin D3--400 units. 2 weeks later, I have been to the ER three times, had an endoscopy just yesterday (doctor said everything looked fine, but sending off stomach sample for biopsy). Still taking Zantac, and Vitamin D. Trying to eat more foods rich in Vitamin D and calcium. I continue to have nausea, stomach pains, body very weak, losing weight, diarrhea, dizziness, flushed and feel like passing out. I can't sleep, and feel very dehydrated. Every morning I feel like I'm dying with these symptoms. It feels as though it hurts from deep inside my muscles or bones, even my joints in my fingers and elbows hurt. Closer to noon, I feel a little better, try to eat a little something, then it starts all over around 9 or 10 in the evening, and keeping me up all night. I WAS TOTALLY FINE UNTIL 2 WEEKS AGO, THEN ALL THIS STARTED HAPPENING. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE? I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I FEEL LIKE I'M JUST GONNA SHRIVEL UP AND DIE.

I have the same symptoms, it started about 3 months ago, I have done all test and drs say I am fine, sometimes I feel like I am going to die, body aches, stomach pain, lightheadedness , sore all over body, red eyes I feel horrible and I need help
That sounds so frightening. I’m not saying my own experience is what you need to be worried about, It still provides a good lesson to push.
I was experiencing breathlessness and generally feeling extremely unwell. Then one night I started vomiting. So I went to my GP. She actually got me up on the examining table 😳 Thank goodness - I owe her my life. She sent me off for an ultrasound. Which then led to a CT scan then surgery with a Stage 4 appendix cancer diagnosis.
The lesson to be learnt is you KNOW when there’s a big problem.
Don’t hesitate to push including for scans.
Push is right! I had symptoms over a span of 6-7 years. They got worse the last 2 years and after my 3rd endoscopy, the GI doctor told me never take a PPI again, my cells were hypertrophic. A PPI is a med - proton pump inhibitor, stronger than other meds like Zantac. Meds like these treat symptoms, not causes of symptoms. Add in the stress we feel doesn’t help our situation. There’s a connection between the brain and our gut. In fact, the gut is called the Second Brain. Google and you’ll find some interesting information.
I finally went in another direction and found a doctor who tested me for SIBO (small intestine bacterial infection), yeast infection, fungal infection and mold. One or more than one of these can affect our gut and we can experience a variety of symptoms and one or more than one of these can be the CAUSE of your SYMPTOMS.
Also what you eat is highly important reduce your symptoms. Also seek out a good nutritionist once you find out the cause or causes to help you eliminate some foods and incorporate others to help improve your digestive tract.
There’s a great book SUPER GUT that is very helpful. By Dr. Michael Davis, on Amazon. I highly recommend it.
Lastly, learn some techniques to help with stress. I’ve added breathwork and meditation to my morning routine. Plus any time you start to feel stressed, use breathwork. It calms your system.
Wishing you all answers. I’ve been there and it is a journey.
This post is 10 years old …!! How are you doing now ?
Danny,
I'm so sorry that you are feeling this way! That must be awful! Have you seen a doctor?
One thing that might relieve some of what you are feeling is Gatorade which balances your electrolytes. When I'm not feeling good, I drink Gatorade and I start to feel much better. Also for your red eyes use over the counter eye drops for dry eyes. Drink tea with sugar and stay away from coffee. The caffeine in coffee won't make you feel good at all. It's very important that you drink a lot of water at this time so you don't get dehydrated.
Have you had a vaccine recently? If you have, that could be related. They are putting some odd things in vaccines lately that aren't good for us and can cause bad side effects. They have added formaldehyde to the flu shot now. My neighbor had the flu shot with formaldehyde in it and she saw people that weren't really there!
The other thing I would suggest is prayer. God made you and he can fix you! He's there for you. You just have to ask.
I hope you feel better! I'll say a prayer for you.

I must disagree with Gatorade - it is not a healthy drink, read the ingredients and just look at how much sugar is in it as well as food dyes. You can find healthy electrolytes on line - Redmond Salt is a brand that has some very good electrolytes.
Also, tea has caffeine in it and adding white cane sugar again is not healthy. Go for an organic leaf stevia if you need to sweeten any drink you like to consume.
Sugar, dairy and gluten are all not good for consumption. Find healthy alternatives.
This post is over 10 years old . The person probably not on here anymore?
Thanks so much, I have seen a lot of doctors and even a specialist who later told me to see a clinical psychologist but I always tell them it’s not in my head, sometimes during the day I have brain fog and it’s like I am about to die, I feel so weak and have headache sometimes I feel better, after moving for 5 minutes I feel so weak and terrible, it’s like I am about to die, I feel
Terrible and i hope I become better
@danny24 referral to a psychologist does not mean “it’s all in your head”. Sometimes anxiety (which is real, and not “in your head”) can manifest itself in ways you describe, and it wouldn’t hurt to get a consult with a psychologist as he/she could suggest anti anxiety medication for you.
I would do that surely
