PSA at 74…. What are options?
I have had prostate cancer for 12 years; diagnosed as stage four in 2012. I’ve done lots of treatments and now Erleada and abuteriene …they and Lupron seem to have run their course. My doctor is suggesting nuclear medicine, Pluvicto?. Anybody else dealing with other medication‘s or Options. My PET scan shows lots of cancer involvement in my spine. I am starting to worry.

I'm sorry for your news. When I was diagnosed with stage 4 in 2021, my care team suggested I'd be on chemo or Pluvicto or similar already by now (I'm not). Your case is an inspiration to me.
12 years is an amazing first leg before progressing to the next stage of treatment. 🤞 that whatever it is will hold you for another 12 years, before moving on to the next thing (which might not even exist yet in 2024).
Best of luck, and take care of yourself.
2014 had a psa test done, was over 5. They, the doctors never contacted me. They stopped doing them ever since. 2022, had another doctor do blood on me that included a psa test. It was 36. I was pist. They could have done something for me then that might have cured it. Had cybefnife after psma pet showed it was still only in the prostate. That is only the cells the test could find. That was with a psa of 52. After the treatment, cyberknife only. No adt, psa dropped to 19. Put the outcome in God's hand. Long history there of remarkable intervention. Keep the faith dirtdancer. Your not alone.
8 years through radiation zolodex then spot rad to L2 then Xtandi with Xgeva and 6 months of Radium 223 or Xofigio
At 80 my PSA is up to 41 They want chemo for 8 mos I want Lithium 177

What is best Chemo extends life but then what
Ask about Xofigio Radium 223 easy to take
Really good question. I am 70, 3.8 years on this Stage 4a journey. Was ADT sensitive for 3 years, now PSA is rising suggesting ADT resistant. Plan is to take another PSA lab in 30 day, see how the numbers look. I PSA continues up we're thinking Step Up Bat Trial, Pluvicto mentioned for down the road.
Hey Dancer, that 12 years, wonderful, big smile. Thank you.
This presentation by Dr. Johnson (of Mayo Clinic) discusses initial treatments (like you’ve already gone through) and what’s next. Some of his comments may answer your questions —> https://youtu.be/JoJomACA5UM
This is what I did.
Start looking at food as medicine.
Stop all sugar. Stop all processed foods like sausage hot dogs bacon lunch meat.
Eat a lot of turkey and chicken but don't be afraid to eat red meat either sparingly.
Eat lots of green leafy vegetables lots of broccoli.
Drink coffee,
green tea V8 Gatorade zero and 8.4 pH or above alkaline spring water. I believe that cancer cannot survive in an alkaline-based chemistry.
Start two capsules of reishi mushrooms I found them at Host defense.com. add tumeric, garlic and ginger capsules 3 a day I found at medchoice.co and 10,000 mg vitamin C, each capsule is 2000 mg. I found on Amazon.
I am not a doctor who do I play one on TV but on February 8th 2024 I was diagnosed was a PSA of 79 and a Gleason score of 9 metastasized into my hips ribs and spine.
I had 5 days so targeted radiation, took a shot of lupron I'll take 140 mg of XT a n d i, oops, that's now down to 70 mg
As of July 15th 2024 my PSA is 0.0
No promises
I do most of this; I cut out sugar years ago, and if I need sweetening and something I use organic agave syrup which takes 2 1/2 hours to break down in your body. But it is very sparing as well. I do eat, leafy greens and a few fruits, and I drink straight lemon juice three or four times a day; about a tablespoon. Hoping this helps get me to an alkaline state. Also, I do a little bit of the other foods, but I don’t do any of the ginger or garlic. I do have turmeric.
I have been on Lupron and many other medication‘s for the last 12 years and those are not working so well. For a period I did go straight cruciferous vegetables but all I could drop was about one and one and a half points on my PSA and so I quit being a vegetarian.
I am going to follow your protocol and order some of this stuff and start taking it; it can’t hurt and obviously the doctors are not helping
Eating can still be joyful — lord knows we deserve some joy in our lives after everything we're dealing with. Just eat a well-balanced diet in reasonable portions, and save desserts and fast food as "sometimes" treats. Bon appetit !
