Opinions of MacuHealth

My optometrist just suggested I take Preservision AREDS2 (cheaper) or MacuHealth (better) for very early AMD. Disregarding side effects for now, does anyone have experience or recommendations from eye docs to sway the decision?

I’m 72 and a 5yr survivor of prostate cancer, proton zapped by the awesome docs and techs at PHX Mayo 🙏

Doc, my first suggestion would be for you to find a good ophthalmologist -- a full MD who specializes in eye health. Optometrists are not MDs, and are fine for prescribing eyeglasses, but you need a specialist for your retinopathy. The good news: now that Baby Boomers have reached the age where retinopathy looms common, research and breakthroughs are on full throttle.
Let's all hope for a magic pill that cures Macular Degeneration affordably. Soon.

Good advice, thanks… I think we’ve all learned to get second, or third, opinions!

I took MacuHealth while my eyes were still dry because the Areds2 had the toxic amount of Zinc. I have that weird sensitivity to it
