Nebulizing and kidney and or bladder function.
Has there been any information regarding nebulizing the sodium cloride 7% and it causing possible kidney or bladder function problems, possibly cause kidney failure or unexpected bladder problems????
The reason I ask is that when I nebulize I have to stop nebulizing often and clear the fluid that comes up to my throat and mouth. It appears to be water. When I eliminate it into a clear solo cup the top is foamy white bubbly and mostly clear/light grey looking under it. I have to stop every so often to eliminate it from my throat and mouth.
Question: Is this how it is for others when nebulizing.???
I do have a hiatal hernia and wonder if the nebulizing is causing this due to the hiatal hernia????
I know one of the purposes of nebulizing is to get water into the lungs to help move out the mucus, if I am correct.
I have a history of dehydration and further when I nebulize I am not releasing as much urine daily as I do when I do not nebulize.
If not releasing as much water via the kidneys and bladder, due to all the above, I wonder if nebuliaing affects the kidneys and bladder.???

Yes I will.
However I am interested in knowing if anyone else felt they also see a difference in kidney/bladder functioing....in terms of a difference when nebulizing vs. on a day that they do not nebulize.
Thanks for reading the post etc.
I have not noticed any of the symptoms you mention. Curious that there is no drug pamphlet included in the box of saline even though it is prescription only.

Thank you.
The article from drugs.com that you sent does state increase or decrease of urination. Much has to be discussed with my doctor due to that and the fact that for years I have had the diagnosis of dehydration via the urine test results and as well I have had two fainting bouts etc. due to dehydration and then also a very bad flight back from Europe due to the low humidity level in the cabin. My doctor recently told people via a video not to drink all the water that is often told to us to do because of the loss of sodium. I know all about that and make sure I have taken in enough salt to counter balance my need for multiple glasses of water a day because if I don''t do that I get leg/foot cramps.
It appears we all have more than the BE problem, meaning is appears one problem leads to another and often one solution causes other problems, some permanent...some temporary.
So many things to consider and know about once your health takes a huge turn from being free of a serious chronic health problem(s) to having one/two etc.
I have hiatus hernia caused by coughing, severe reflux/gastritis and nebb 6% hypertonic saline generally twice a day. I also produce at least 7oz of clear/white foamy product each time...with some thicker white areas in it. Sounds like yours.
It appears this volume of mucus is unusual and I am endeavouring to find a solution. A physio suggested not nebbing in case that was causing more fluid and irritation. I tried doing airway clearance without nebbing for a couple of weeks but didn't feel I was clearing my lungs properly.
I haven't noticed a change in bladder/kidney function.
Currently having a review by an old GP of mine who did say something to the effect that the saline may affect other aspects of the ways our lungs operate...he wasn't specific about it though.
I have gone back to him for a review because I supposedly also have undertreated asthma which may be playing a role.
This may not be of any help to you. I hope you get to find the answers you are seeking.
