Initial Visit Questions

I am speaking to the appointment people tomorrow at 4 and we are already checking out where to stay (hotel, Mayo, AirBnb). How long should we be expecting to stay? I have a lot of issues (MS, Chronic granulomatous disease, Chrones.... etc). Thank you in advance!

Welcome to Mayo Connect, there is plenty of advice about visiting Mayo. The appointment coordinator you will talk to tomorrow will determine best dept to start with. The normal process will be for them to gather information and pass on info to a reviewing provider.

What location are you planning on going to? Did you self request an appointment or did your local provider refer you?

@ashleiporter, as @roch said, there are many different discussions in the Visiting Mayo Clinic support group. You can use the group search to look for answers to specific questions you might have.

You can also contact Mayo Clinic's free Concierge Services beforehand or while on site to answer any questions about accommodations, shuttles, things to do, etc.

Definitely go through Concierge Svcs BEFORE making any flight reservations. I ended up needing to change flight out to squeeze in another scan; they didn't arrange my original flight(s), so we're unable to get it changed at a VERY lesser cost. Was like I paid for double plane tickets! Definitely call Mayo Concierge Service first. Best wishes!
