Occasional Blurry Vision

Posted by Ali @muhammadali1951, Jul 27 12:12am

I experience occasional blurred vision. An examination has detected nothing wrong with the eyes. So, the eye doctor suggested a cardiology and neurology evaluation.

Brain and Spine MRI scans detected mild thickening of the artery to the brain, which the doctor said was normal at my age (73)

A Holter study detected nothing wrong.

I have bradycardia, as my heart rate is around 55 per minute.

What could be the cause of the blurring of the eyes?

sorry. Best of luck to you. I hope you find relief.

I assume, from your handle, that you are a Muhammad Ali fan?

I have an anecdote about him, from some people in my circle.

He was invited to meet with a Hindu priest. His friends did not want him to go. Generally, there has been some tension between Hindus and Muslims. But Muhammad Ali said, no...he absolutely wanted to go.

And he met with this Hindu priest and they immediately connected with each other. They connected with each other so deeply, that within a couple of minutes, they fell into silence and just prayed, silently, together for 30 minutes..without ever saying they were going to do that.

Each deeply appreciated the other.

So, the Hindu priest left. After he left, Muhammad Ali's friends discovered that the Hindu priest left his sweater. So, one of them said he would drive across town and give back the priest his sweater. Muhammad Ali said no...and he personally took the sweater, drive it across town and gave it to the Hindu priest.

He was that kind of man. Didn't care who you were or what your background was. If he sensed you were a nice and caring person, you were immediately his friend. And a very honorable man, no ego about his wealth. A man visiting him forgot his sweater. He was not going to have some attendant run it back...

Wonderful human being...

Thank you sharing that intersting anecdote about Muhammad Ali. Yes, I'm an admirer of Muhammad Ali,

But that's not the reason for my profile name. My name IS Muhammad Ali 😁

I am not Muslim myself. But my wife and I are writers. And we are poets. A lot of the poets are huge fans of the Sufi poets like Rumi and Hafiz.

My wife and I used to see Coleman Barks read Rumi at the Dodge Poetry Festival. Just so incredibly wonderful.

The correct greeting is "As-salaamu alaikum...right?

My wife works for Seton Hall University. In 2015, she helped set up a unity concert at Carnegie Hall. They had original compositions from one Christian composer, one Muslim composer and one Jewish composer.

I wish everyone could get along and all the anger and hatred and violence could just stop. Maybe someday in the distant future?

Here's a clip about the concert they put together.

My wife was actually in the chorus...in this clip.

Hi, @samcal9977zz ,

How nice to meet a poet at a medical support group.

I am a poetry lover, and I have always envied poets. Rumi and Gibran are so profound.

Yes, the correct form of Islamic greeting is As-salaamu alaikum, and it means may you have peace. The response is Wa alaikum salam, meaning may you have peace, too.

I'm glad to know your wife is a poet, too, and a singer to boot. Please say hi to her for me.

I live in the state of Kerala in India.

Thanks for the invite to Facebook.

Facebook does not like me very much. I am always getting booted off of there. Currently can't access it.

Someone told me it is the result of hacking.

I don't have time to deal with all that...

Back in 1980, I had an opportunity to travel to India, but I could not get time off of work to go.

I should have quit my job and gone!!!

Have a nice day, sir!

Neither am I but some medications have been known to spike my blood sugar and the clue that sends me to the glucose monitor is blurry vision.

Have you gotten any further in determining what the cause of your blurry vision is? I've started a downhill slide towards more blurred vision. I went to the optometrist yesterday, and they were of no help. I'm not close to needing to get cataracts. I don't want to try a bunch of different eye drops to find out none may work. I've tried 3 different eye drop types so far and see no improvement in letter reading clarity. They looked at the back of my eyes and all was normal with those photos. so, I wonder what options there are for me to get clearer vision. i wear eyeglasses but my prescription is not terribly strong, probably 20/60 in each eye without glasses of course. Ideas?
