Which treatment for bladder cancer? gemcitabine vs BCG
Is there any difference between gemcitabine and BCG in the treatment of bladder cancer. I have had the procedure that removed the cancer and am now facing 6 weeks of infusion. Can they use either of the above?

Hi @johnfromca, good question. As you may already know, both gemcitabine and Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) are intravesical therapies, which means the drugs are given directly into the bladder. BCG is the most common intravesical immunotherapy for treating early-stage bladder cancer. Gemcitabine and mitomycin are the drugs used most often for intravesical chemotherapy.
