I tried trelegy and it seemed to help but then I needed to take an antihistamine and I had a reaction to Zrytec. It knocked me out and it never did that before when I was on Breo. The difference was Trelegy contains an anticholinergic (umiclidium sp?) that Breo does not. I gess the anticholinergic somehow enhanced the zrytec. I don't know but I slept all day so I went back to Breo which is the same minus the umiclidum (sp?).
Anticholinergics can be drying to mucus in lungs making it more difficult to remove. Trelegy contains an anticholinergic. I have not tried it but in theory it would not be that helpful for bronchiectasis alone. It might be helpful for treating bronchiectasis with co-morbidities such as COPD etc.
I did not notice much less mucus with the trelegy but it could have caused bronchospasm after several months...I am not sure but in any case I stopped it so I can take antihistamines (2nd gen) if I have to. It sure did not stop post nasal drip at all (azelastine nasal seems to help that a bit)
Thanks for your reply.
